Worms in my chameleons substrate D:

Looks like a fruit fly larvae. Typically harmless. Substrate of any type is usually not a good idea with most chameleons. What species do you keep?

    Wood/stain/sealant for cage building?

White oak is much more rot resistant than red oak or maple. Whiskey barrels are made from white oak. Pine will rot way before w oak. The key is to allow it to dry out and never stay wet. Poplar is not a good choice.

    Wood/stain/sealant for cage building?

I don't know what species of wood are available to you but, white oak, black locust, teak, ipe are all very rot resistant woods that would take on the elements better. Spar urethane is an outdoor urethane that protects well but requires several days to dry. I don't think polyacryl will hold up...

    chams rubbing their eyes

Not to go against the general consensus, but I think they would be fine. They climb all over trees with little branches sticking out when in the wild. I see no ill effects from them myself. These little guys have been surviving in much worse conditions for millions of years they are fragile...

    Bowsers mouth/tongue?

If someone is willing to look through the forum and read all that is available, then this is a great tool. To those that find the first thread and do what it sais with no other research, then this forum may not be the best place. I don't know where else you would go for help. Most reputable...

    reverse osmosis water question

What is the benefit of r/o water? I have used tap water for years with no ill effects. Why go through so much trouble when you can just set the water out for a day and all the chlorine will be gone. Nozzles can be soaked in vinegar if they have lime build up. Sorry, didn't mean to interject...

    elephant eared chameleon

If I've learned anything, a good deal with a chameleon usually ends up costing way more than it should have in the long run. Be careful and good luck.
