I’ve just read your other posts… welcome to the world of Chams! 💚
Good idea with the small worms. Larger worms have a tendency to bite (I’ve actually experienced this myself), which can cause mouth rot. Mealworms are an excellent treat, and I would also recommend small hornworms if you can...
I honestly don’t pay very much mind to Rango when I am misting his cage. My main focus is watering his plants and whatnot. Today, I caught sight of a rather interesting response from my Veiled Chameleon (who, clearly, is NOT a fan of the evil mist).
I’m sure this reaction is normal, but I...
Right now, my pathetic plant collection in Rango’s cage consists of a lively schefflera and a medium-sized fern. It’s enough to provide drinking surfaces and a few hiding spots… but it’s definitely bare minimum.
I’m looking to buy a few more veiled-friendly plants (mainly Pothos for ceiling...
Welcome to the world of Chams! 💚
I recommend reading this blog by @Beman on trust building. I am not sure why your cham seems friendly, but I do know that Chams are not domesticated and do not typically enjoy handling. Maybe she’s looking for a form of escape? Again, i’m not sure.
I’m going to...
I watered Rango a bit late today, as I had taken a nap and completely forgotten to wake up on time (not to worry, it was only an hour or so). 😅
Anyway— I tried snapping a picture of Rango’s sleeping colors and cute little closed “-“ eyes, but it turned out that he was looking right back at me...
After hearing an odd sound, I caught a short video of Rango sneaking his snack after I set down a few leftover treats. He’s willing to walk up to me and feed from a cup in my hand, but he gets shy sometimes. 😅
(Please excuse the quality… I have no idea what happened!)
A double-rare moment captured on camera: Rango facing forward AND using both of his eyes to look at me! 💚 (this took several shots since he kept looking away 😅)
Hello!
I agree with @MissSkittles. I personally use Reptivite twice monthly and Calcium without D3 at every feeding. These powders can last forever— I’ve had mine for a few months, and they’re not even half empty.
Here is my personal dusting schedule, in case you would like a physical...
For the first month or so that I had Rango, I only fed him Superworms and crickets, which were dusted in calcium (yes, with D3) 😬.
When I first began researching what Chameleons should be eating, I quickly realized that superworms would not cut it and, eventually, might even make him obese. The...
Poor Rango was confused as to why I was poking the tongs at him… a roach had somehow escaped his bowl as I was feeding him and decided to crawl onto his face 😂 right in his blind spot, too!
Good news: Rango is eating! He’s been willingly walking to his cup as I offer it to him and even placing his little foot on the rim of it. ❤️
A brief handling session took place today because he couldn’t be in the cage while I removed his fake moss vines (those apparently aren’t good for him)…...
As I’ve excitedly been posting, Rango is now in a new, very large and improved cage (XL reptibreeze//2x2x4).
I already knew it was coming… but Rango is not eating. In an attempt to not stress him as he adjusts, I have been setting a bowl of mixed bugs (roaches & 1–2 superworms as they cannot...
This is incredible!! Thank you so much! 😍
Rango very much enjoys his new cage, and he’s been exploring it frequently. Happy days are ahead for my little man! 💚
