I’m going through this currently. After years and years of keeping and breeding it finally got me. I have an entire clutch of 20 babies that contracted Coccidia.
I noticed some runny poops just before I was supposed to send the first baby out to it’s new home and made the call to delay...
If you read about steaming for coccidia you will find that the parasite need to be exposed to the stem for a period of time so you have to the wand very slowly.
I have this one and it works good. The thing about using a steamer is you have to move it very slowly to kill parasites like coccidia. I’m happy with this unit but don’t knock it over. I did that and to stopped working for good and I had to buy another...
This is very cool. I helped Jay Redbond with the Chester Zoo a bit and I’m happy to see them have success hatching Parson’s. I believe he said they are the first AZA zoo to hatch them.
I have one or two Tamura enclosures for sale. As everyone knows they are awesome enclosures. They are 4x2x4 and have drains, light hoods, fans and fan controllers. I think I also have dividers and the a bio bottom for one of the cages. These also have the screen door option. I do not have...
The rarest captive bred chameleon in the US?
Here’s a baby Calumma globifer I hatched out 9/28/22. This is the culmination of a Globifer project I’ve had going on for 6 years.

I helped write that paper.
Parson’s can live a good long time in captivity if conditions are right. Seems like the older ones I’ve heard of have lived mainly outdoors or at least had some good exposure to the outdoors.
OE have been the most common for years. They have been produced probably at least 10 times. Yellow lips are far less common and as far as I know they have only been produced 3 times in the US, at least that I know of. Yellow Giants have gained a lot of popularity in the last couple years and it...
Interesting thing is when I first put him outside he was very dark. That went on for about 3-4 weeks but he slowly got more comfortable and now this is his normal coloration. When I was first offered him the picture I received was not flattering. He looked dark and rough from importation. I...
I would hope there will be several people breeding them by then. So many people have YG’s now and some have multiple adult pairs. It’s funny, when I first got them people weren’t really interested in them, now they seem to be all the rage. Perhaps the YL’s will make a come back now..
He’s long for sure. I have a couple other males that are similar in length, over 24”. This guy doesn’t have the girth but I think with that big head of his, he will fill out some more.
