Xantholophus Jackson's Horn Development & Weight

I am not sure about his age. I just guessed it. He looked too big to me to be younger than 6 months old. Could he be younger or was he just too skinny? I feed him 1-1,5 inches Locusta migratoria. They are as big as adult crickets I guess. He eats 1-2 locusts 3-4 days a week. He eats 3 somedays...

Xantholophus Jackson's Horn Development & Weight

I have a male Trioceros jacksonii xantholophus for a year. When I bought him he was 8 grams and had very weird shaped horns. I could not learn how old he was but I guess he was approx. 6 months old back then. I guessed it from how small he was when I bought him. Now, after a year with...

First (or second) Panther Babies in TURKEY

Thanks everyone! :) They are all hatched and I have 10 babies right now (I gave 3 to my friends, one of them is a little blue male right now  ). They are all good but there was a weird situation with their hatching time. I did not know that chameleons from same clutch usually hatch at the...

do your eyes scare your chameleon?

My chams are not really scared of my eyes. They move slowly and sometimes stop eating when I look at them, bur usually they want to tongue-shot my eyes and eat my pupils. One of my chameleons shot my right eye already, it did not hurt or harmed neither of us though. :)

First (or second) Panther Babies in TURKEY

One of my 21 September 2014 dated eggs popped this "morning" (5 am in Turkey, night for americans :)) and there was a nose popping through the hole! :D There is no panther breeding recorded in Turkey accept my friend Chamillion's eggs. Unfortunately his eggs were overheated at summer...

If you keep more than one Chameleon...

It sounds like you have such a funny panther. :) I have 2 panthers -Montia (an adult female) and Tobi (a sub-adult male)- and a young male Jackson's named Jax. :D My panthers are not okey with misting, they don't like to be misted directly on them. They drink everyday though, love drinking...

    New Quads! Imported Feb/15

They are such beautiful chams. I want to say something about the mites. I think they are Pterygosomatidae species. I don't now if they can breed in house but my Kuhl's geckos and dwarf day geckos had those mites and they are BAD. They may not kill a "big" chameleon like that one but they weaken...

    Tongue lost!

Thank you all so much! I am sorry that I did not post any reply back then. Tobi did not die and did not got sick. But he ate poorly for a couple weeks and remaining flesh of his tongue slowly disappeared. Now, 3 months after the accident, his tongue is mostly bone. As I can see not much flesh...

I didn't see if he bit it off or it rip off but it was off! There was a tongue on my hand! I was shocked, frightned. I went to a vet immediately but...

Trioceros hoehnelii new imported: questions, gravid female?

Thank you so much, Now they are in their own 18x18x24" Exo Terra. But is paper towel a good substrate for these species or should I put coconut subtrate (its the same thing as Exo Terra Plantation Soil) with drainage underneath (lava rocks, same thing as Exo Terra Bio Drain Substrate) to have a...

Trioceros hoehnelii new imported: questions, gravid female?

Hi, I have a male and a female adult Trioceros hoehnelii and they are imported from europe just 6 days ago. I bought them 5 days ago, they can be wc or cb (seller said cb but I don't think an adult pair with female gravid can be cb). They are in an Exo Terra glass 18”x18”x24” with a wall in the...

HELP!!! Chameleon Fallen and maby Paralized!?? :(

That is really good news! I am glad he is back to his normal life. :) I am just a one year chameleon keeper but maybe it is a good idea to went a vet and being sure he is not injured. Maybe an x-ray is necessary. (just maybe)

    Swimming!

Actually they can't "swim", they are just floating because their skin is water-proof (maybe not at all but not like mammal's skin). Their hands are the worst shaped hands to swim! So, when a chameleon falls into water, it float and freaks out, trying to walk but can't, he/she will be extremely...

    Now hatching: Trioceros deremensis

Parents and babies, all o them are unbelievably amazing! Beautiful! :) The incubation length is also so short for a big chameleon species. Did you do any dispause? Or day/night temperature difference?
