    BSFL long term storage

Just thought I would share this info On April 1st, I put BSFL (aka phoenix worms, black soldier fly larvae, calci worms, repti worms) in my wine fridge set at 56 degrees. I have been using feeders from the cups for 6 months. As of today (6 months later), the larvae are still alive and able to...

    Need phoenix worm advice

I just store mine in a wine fridge at 56 degrees. When I want some to pupate, I usually just put a hundred or so in a separate cup. They will mature slowly at this temp so I do find pupa and adults in the cup. They have been stored 6 months this way and they are still turning into adults...

    Who breeds their own feeders

44937- I don't do crickets because they are labor intensive. I do almost nothing for my roaches but if they weren't getting eaten theirs no point. You could switch to a 10 gallon aquarium of dubias so it would be virtually no work and still keep variety. You also could switch to orange head...

They will climb it even with plenty of leaves. You could add some sticks or vines to add more spaces.

    4-5 Week old Veiled Cham

where the brown meets the white, it is often orange. Nothing to worry about. You will seldom see most chams drink and when they do, its just a drop here and a drop there.

    Baby and adult cages

Jacksons are livebearers. Jacksons are also a little more demanding. I love them and they are what I fell in love with 35 years ago but could never find them until the 90's. Check the care sheets but I believe they need a higher humidity and are harder to keep hydrated. Veildes and panthers...

    Baby and adult cages

The downside is its a little hard to keep track of his eating. I had to move the feeding cup often. The medium reptibreeze cages are pretty cheap and they can be found on craigslist sometimes. What species and gender are you getting? Wifi Webcams are pretty cool but at first they will make...

    Closing eyes whilst basking?

Not seeing your cham drink is normal. they only drink a few drops a day and if you are there he is either scared or waiting for you to serve him dinner. To make sure he is getting enough to drink, I recommend a dripper 2x per week set on slow so he will have a chance to drink an hour or 2 from...

    Calciworms

What i would do is let them pupate. She will eat the flies. But you need to keep trying her on new things. Does she eat from you hand? If not get her to by starting with her favorite.

    Calciworms

I just use a small calciworm cup with lid to take out 50 or so worms at a time. They pupate in there over tye course of a week or so.

    Calciworms

T hey are excellent...however they apparently can constipate a cham if fed exclusively after about 5 days. Its best to always mix up your feeders. Either a variety each day or a few days of one then something new. I use a $60 wine fridge at 56 degrees and i have kept them alive for almost 6...

    Calciworms

Phoenix worms, bsfl (black soldier fly larvae) all the same beast. The flies are easier to feedfeed, and chams love them.

    New Chameleon Planning!

I on the other hand have probably dropped 100 dubias over the last year. Lol. My wife is very tolerant but if she finds a bunch of little red roaches, me, the chams and the bugs would be living in the shed.
