Ok, let's get back on topic. Since I'm looking to adopt a new panther in the summer, I'm curious about people's lighting/supplementation. I've used Arcadia's 6% bulb and was using a light dusting of Rep Cal plus (like the Kammers), but one of my concerns was that I was still overdoing it since...
I don't need to see detailed shots your home or anything, but just a shot of your enclosure, your foggers and how you have everything setup? What about just your chameleons?
Haven't had a chance to go to home depot yet :ROFLMAO:. I'm thinking I might be able to superglue a threaded pvc fitting under the hole and to be extra safe use some of the aquarium grade silicone around the outside of it. Then I should be able to screw on a fitting or hose from there.
Actually...
I feel you. Bostonian here and I have the all screen cage, but covered about 3 sides of it. Do you have the drainage tray? I'm currently working on getting the hole I drilled in the bottom to be an effective drain into the waste bucket.
@Dbash44 so I just received the drain piece and it’s not nearly as flush on the underside that would rest against the floor as the images made it seem.
So the black piece is what you glued into your base, right? And you filed it down so there was just enough to be flush with the floor?
I think a temp drop when misting is normal. Assuming it's a screen cage, I'd recommend wrapping a few sides of it in plastic. I would also assume the basking spot stays hotter than 80, right? Can we see pics of your setup?
Looking great, I also noticed in your bio you’re from up in the north east like me, so we have similar a climate to battle with, especially during winter.
What enclosure is that, a dragon strand?
Thank you so much for all that detail! Once I get that drain thingy I’ll go to Home Depot and get the rest and report back on it. Between this and adjusting to the more naturalistic hydration cycle that calls for less heavy misting, the stagnant water issue should become a thing of the past...
That is awesome! Yeah I’d like to reuse the same 9/16” hole I drilled because my tray sits on top of a solid table so had to make the drain off to the side. Works out nicely because the waste bucket can slide out easily. I ordered this piece...
@cyberlocc to hopefully steer this thread back to the humidity question, I'm curious what your personal misting/watering technique and schedule is? Are you located somewhere with with fairly easy going seasons, or are your winters pretty harsh on that humidity like mine are?
Apologies if you...
I really like that idea! Great way to get an even spread and not damage your enclosure! Are you using a standard size humidifier for it? My main issue is that I'd either have to place it on the floor or on top of our toy case (from ikea). From the floor I just don't know how far a humidifier can...
