    Getting back in the game

Well I've been away from chams for over a year or so now after having a string of bad luck. Some was my doing and some things were just unfortunate. But anyways I am back in the hobby a little bit more wiser. I've been preparing to jump back in for a while and after being patient I've finally...

Extra parts, what are they for exactly?

I have 3 LLL cages and none of them came with those parts. Looks like they just packed in extras by mistake.

    Dirt Questions...

Chams don't dig unless they are going to lay eggs. How big is your cham and is the cricket keeper what you are keeping her in full time? If it is, you're going to need to make serious changes on how you keep your chameleon or she won't last long at all.

Is my Panther Chameleon a male or female?

Can't tell from those pics. You want to show us shots that are side view that show the base of the tail. From there, you can see the hemi penal bulge.

    Gravid Panther

Hate to piggyback but we have almost the same situation and people have offered a weight as an indicator. What type of weight gain are we looking for? Anyone have a ballpark figure?

    two in one cage

Post pics of the back feet. The spur is like a bump and is easily visible.

is the wait for shipping okay.

From what I understand, it was older models of the compacts that caused eye problems so there is a stigma that they are forever bad as it is debatable if the manufacturers actually addressed the issue. That said, if a compact is all you got, I would say either just hang with for the next few...

    uvb10.0

Some people use a 10.0 because of the material that is at the top of the screen enclosure blocks out a good amount of the UVB penetration. I'm not sure of specifics but I know I've read it somewhere on these forums.

    question about Goliaths

Another way to do it is to remove them from the food source for a couple of days.

    One way or the other...

There are portable, collapsible cages that are fairly cheap and work well for sessions outside if you are looking into something a little more cost effective. Throw in some sticks, vines, and some foliage and you got a cheap alternative to getting a full on screen cage. Handling frequency...

    One way or the other...

Ever consider an outdoor cage for sunning? That way your interactions are less with him and he gets the benefits of natural sunlight. They may tolerate human interaction but sometimes its hard for humans to understand that what we preceive as some kind of bond is not the same thing for a...

    Confused with Amy!

When I first got my female ambilobe everyone for sure thought she was gravid. That was months ago and I've gotten nothing. She is slow to gain weight and does not seem to be plumping up. She'll eat like a horse if I let her, but I've really moderated her feedings and turned off her basking...

    aquazamp

With my new melleri, I hear that they seem to be stimulated by rain drops rather then mist, which is why I'm interested in the aquazamp rain dome. And since he is local, I'm hoping I can just buy directly from him.

    aquazamp

I'm actually doing the same thing. I have a mist king for 3 cages and for another part of the house I'm contemplating trying the zamp.

    Where to buy a melleri?

I agree. I've seen quite a few on kingsnake.com. I went with a WC from LLL myself. 3 day owner :D

    Suggestions for a small tree

I havent considered a fake one. But don't melleri like to chomp on vegitation once in a while? If anyone uses fake trees with melleri, I would like to know :D I should have been more clear. I wanted to try something different from the usual plants use. I currently use the big 3, pothos...

    Suggestions for a small tree

Already got a schefflera too. I buy them quite cheap actually at Home Depot and they come in a nice ceramic pot. 20 dollars for about 3-4 foot specimens.

    Suggestions for a small tree

I'm looking for a tree around 4-6 feet tall (I can elevate it if need be) to help round out my melleri's 7 foot enclosure. I'm looking for something different from a ficus. Anyone have any ideas?

    Personality switch

My first mac story is good! My Macbook is still running great. But I guess it's not all good because I rarely use it as my portable computing duties have been given to my iPad. I've had my cham in a similar situation to the OP's pic where I would go outside and read on my iPad and let my...
