Confused with Amy!

So, Amy has me well and truly confused. A couple of months back she was obviously receptive , then after a couple of weeks she started turining black and very nasty when she saw Tommy. She has been like that for about a month, but the last couple of days she is restless again and is not being unreceptive, in colour or behaviour! What on earth is going on with her? She laid her first infertile clutch back in November and I am still waiting for her second!

Her temps are permanently in the very low 80s, and I have been restricting food. She's been down to her laying bin a couple of times lately too, plus her appetite has really increased, not that she is getting more food, but she seems so ravenous!

She may be getting ready to lay a small clutch. Hard to know. After all it is their job to keep us confused, and most of mine have the art mastered!!

How often has she seen Tommy since she laid the last eggs? Sometimes the sight of a male can make them cycle.

She sees him quite often as they are housed side by side. They can't see each other while in their vivs, but when I take one or the other out then they see each other. Neither have seen much of each other lately, as Tommy has turned grumpy and Amy hasn't wanted to come out. She is now restless and receptive (I think) again and both have been out several times today. If seeing him was going to encourage her to cycle then would she not have done so by now? She laid her first and only clutch back in the beginning of November, so a good 7 months ago.

I'm having the same problems with Delilah, they are both restless and they don't see eachother.. I thought she was gravid again back in March I believe I posted a thread about it.. But she shows her yellow/orange stripes and gets pretty dark and shows her blues a lot like she was gravid.. I guess I will never understand women? lol ;):p:confused:

Good Luck with Amy!

Thanks - she is defintiely receptive - she doesnt react to Tommy and spends all day trying to get out of her viv! Usually she sits in the same place all day, but she can't sit still at the moment! Every time I open the viv she legs it straight out trying to get to Tommy. She's not daft, lol, she knows exactly where he is! Like you and your female, I thought she was going to lay about a month ago, but she didn't. She hasn't laid since her first clutch back in November.

When I first got my female ambilobe everyone for sure thought she was gravid. That was months ago and I've gotten nothing. She is slow to gain weight and does not seem to be plumping up. She'll eat like a horse if I let her, but I've really moderated her feedings and turned off her basking (since its summer) so perhaps she won't lay anytime soon.
