my cham just laid her eggs in a 12x12x12 plastic storage container, filled with moist play sand. I bought the container from walmart, and the sand from home depot, but your regional walmart might sell it, as my region was small and had to phase it out.
she dug a hole just deep enough that if...
Do you exclusively cup feed? My female veil went on cup strike for a while, though it turned out to be because she was growing eggs. I had no choice but to dust the crickets, offer a cup, then let them go wild in the cage. She would eat most of them at her own pace. She is slowly accepting the...
My problem with that, is the cage is an exoterra flexarium, and they are a little flimsy, especially with the weight of the tub. I have it on a dresser which isn't even as big as the cage, so I don't know how to raise it up yet ^^
I shall try and look into that! I don't really understand how it will be done, as of yet, as I feel like my "floor" space in the cage is limited, especially with a 50 pound tub of sand in there. (Not sure if I can get rid of that yet, since she may go a while before laying again?)
I have a Little Dripper, but it's hard to get it to drip anywhere that my veil will drink from it regularly. Either way, I have it going all the time, and catch the water in a plastic dish, which I empty every day or so.
However I just watched her sit on its ledge and shoot her tongue into it...
My lady veil has never liked hands, but ever since she laid eggs, I have been getting my hands in her space a lot more. I've found, that if I go really slow and let her look at my hands, I can get them under her elbows and pull her carefully off her vines. She will still hiss, but if I stay calm...
I don't think I could afford to maintain them if they were fertile! I don't know anything about incubating, nor do I have the funds to provide for a dozen little chameleons, so I'm grateful that she's a lone lizard!
She is by no means ravenous, as far as I can tell. I dusted the last of my crickets and put them in the cage to roam with her, because she was only briefly fooled into eating out of the cup. I got her to drink last night, but for now, I just have the dripper going above her perch, hoping she'll...
Phew! I am glad this is over! She's SO THIN NOW. I will know to look for that beer belly, next time. :) I thought she was just fat and healthy, before, but now she's a leaf!
No! I don't know her weights. she would never let me hold her before last night, and I"m pretty sure the only reason she did was because she was exhausted.
I got her to drink some water last night, and this morning, she ate two or three crickets in one bite, but then she was like, "Hey... I...
She did it! I posted another topic, to spill my heart out because I'm positively gushing and beaming with pride!

I posted earlier, scared and nervous, because my baby girl was digging her first hole (since I've known her, anyway). That was how I found her at 5pm, when I woke up from a nap, since I had been partying the night before. I saw her moving around in the morning, and the last few days, she has...

This is the product I use for her cage. It's sort of plastic/nylon, I guess? Hers is the 65 gallon.
The most I can keep it is an inch or two away from the mesh, due to the setup height, and the wimpyness of the clamps that come with most dome...
