First Post & Is this a good cham?

Well that's good. When I was 15 I got a green iguana that somehow was the nicest reptile I ever owned. I thought they all were and had YouTube been around 25 years ago I never would have considered one. Panther Chameleon is a good choice just not a cheap one. Honestly no reptile that needs...

First Post & Is this a good cham?

That's a good answers even though I don't think you would have a problem with #2 being local. There is definitely less risk moving early incubation when they get shipped just like with chicken eggs. You can ship them before they really start to incubate. This is also the reason why I bought 4...

First Post & Is this a good cham?

I don't think you should raise them from eggs unless you have experience and the supplies but what were their reasons? Taking care of the eggs are super simple since you just place them in hatch rite in an almost airtight container, add water, and place it in a closet. I didn't have to add...

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

So here is my setup as of today. I have plants ready to go bioactive but I do not want to disturb them until I verified they are eating. I replaced my 12" T5 HO 5.0 with an 18" T5 HO 10.0 sideways (The store only had 18" T5 10.0 bulbs so I bought a new fixture). I decided to go with a 10.0...

First Post & Is this a good cham?

The price isn't bad and lets assume they are healthy because you can't tell that from the pictures of babies that aren't born or always from a photo in general. Those aren't going to be ready until May at the absolute earliest if they hatched on the extremely short side of the spectrum and...

How long before hatchling panter chameleons show an interest in food?

Thanks!! So I have over another 32 hours or more before I have anything to really worry about. When I walk over I can see their eye's rotate and look at me to they are definitely alert. They are probably a little behind do to me leaving them in the cool cup for a while like instructed. It...

How long before hatchling panter chameleons show an interest in food?

I have 2 with one out of the egg 2 days and the other 1 day. I put a small cup of fruit flies near them and I am seeing no interest.

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

Cool I can make it bioactive I have all the stuff here now to do it along with ABG and the false bottom. I'll keep them on paper towels for a few days so I can monitor if they are eating and droppings look normal and switch it over. That sounds like a great idea.

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

That works for me and is exactly what I was thinking too! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't harming them by putting them by not using a screen. I can pick up a few live plants tonight. I drill most my glass enclosures for drainage. If I use a fan should I aim it at the front of the...

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

I would go broke if I bought cultures but when Covid hit I got fliers into my cultures so I needed to start over. Was not fun trying to find new cultures so I didn't have to live with the fliers. In addition many times new cultures aren't producing yet. Crickets were given a quota so I started...

Looks like I will have a few baby Panther Chameleons by the end of the weekend. Will an Exo Terra work in North East US?

Is there a good link to one of these hybrids? I know of the Zoomed Reptibreeze Deluxe but I wouldn't really call that a hybrid only having one side Acrylic and I definitely wouldn't want to mist against the acrylic front because I can see it warping.

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

I keep and make 10 fruit fly cultures weekly of 3 types, hydei & melonagaster with and without wings because I keep Dart frogs & day geckos. I already have crickets of different sizes for my various reptiles. Maybe these pictures will give you a little confidence. I have a tub with a DIY...

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

About to run to the store to pick up a few supplies. I think I'll start with the zilla tank or clean out my cricket bin that has a modified hot glued aluminum top at least for a month. Even in the small hatching container he looks dry with condensation everywhere. I can't see how on earth I...

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

First one is out. Going to run to the store to get an enclosure. What should I grab. I have an 18x18x24 Exo terra here but should I go with a screen?

Looks like I will have a few baby Panther Chameleons by the end of the weekend. Will an Exo Terra work in North East US?

So I have 4 eggs 2 of which just pipped ahead of when I thought they were schedule even though my house has only been in the high 60s this winter. Sorry I am asking this question because I think the answer has changed in the community over the years from when I last kept chameleons. I live in...

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

I think this is where they are supposed to break through. It doesn't look dead because any reptile I ever had that dies has sunken in eyes in no time. Also the shells don't look like they are anywhere near drying out. When I mean heat I meant just getting them up to 74 degrees with a...

Hatching Panther Chameleons!! Exposed faces but no movement in 6 hours since I noticed it.

I checked today and 2 of my 4 Panther Chameleon eggs have noses sticking out from splits in the side of the eggs. This is the first time I checked them in a few days because after months you get lazy and start to forget. At 4am last night for some reason I got the urge to check on them and...

Front of both eyes are swollen on new veiled chameleon given to me. Photo provided.

How did you press that out? I was thinking about using a wet q-tip and trying. I haven't seen any rubbing on vines.
