NOT A CHAM. A LEOPARD GECKO. PLS HELP.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but I know a common practice with geckos, leos included, to place a dish of calcium for them to lick up.

Planning on getting a baby helmeted Cham. Should I get glass or hybrid?

I would also recommend the Chameleon Academy Podcast with Chris Anderson on Glass Enclosures. Using a glass terrarium with a substrate/ bioactive set up requires you to mist a lot less. I live in NJ however with the winter, my room humidity is usually around 10-30% but allows me get 50-100%.

Planning on getting a baby helmeted Cham. Should I get glass or hybrid?

I would recommend reaching out to Bob Cochran and there's an episode on the chameleon breeders podcast with him too

Planning on getting a baby helmeted Cham. Should I get glass or hybrid?

The T8s are less powerful than the T5. So my T8 12% is comparable to your T5 6%

Planning on getting a baby helmeted Cham. Should I get glass or hybrid?

I would recommend a glass enclosure. Firstly because of the high humidity requirements. I keep mine at around 55-65% during the day and 90-100% at night. Given that they are an incredibly higher altitude species I've found glass works the best. I've gotten two clutches, albeit from a WC adult...

    Kinyongia boehmei or tavetana

So I found someone selling Kinyongia tavetana wich I have several questions how legitimate that is. I know tavetana is found in Kenya but primarily found in Tanzania, wixh is closed. It looks more like boehmei but wasn't sure if anyone with expirence with either could help. Don't have much...

Any acceptable fountains to stimulate drinking?

Anyone have opinion on these? I use them with mine but never seen them use them. They have a filter & pad so feeders can't fall in. http://www.lllreptile.com/products/30875-chameleon-cantina-drinking-fountain-green

    Nosy faly locale

Awsome set up. My only concern is as stated above is the lack of a ventilation strip on the bottom. Im not a Pardalis expert but most chameleons need it to dry out during the day. You could either add a ventilation strip or I've seen people drill and put circular ventilation caps on the sides.

    Trioceros deremensis UVB lighting.

Does anyone know where I can get a UVB meter at a decent price. Tempted to try a 14% T5 given he likes to basking in the morning and the spend the afternoon in the bushes. Has anyone tested the Exo Terra 150 Compact florescent. My juvenile female is in an 18x18x24 with a basking spot of ~3" and...

    Trioceros deremensis UVB lighting.

They came from Snakes at Sunset. They were European CB imports. I think I'm going to upgrade to a T5 12%. Would you say that the T8 12% has a similar output to the T5 6%. Im using just a standard aquarium hood that retrofitted with a reflective piece of aluminum.

    Trioceros deremensis UVB lighting.

Hello, I have a question as I have been concerned over my UVB choice for my Trioceros deremensis. I have my adult male in an 18x24x36 Exo Terra with a 24" Arcadia 12% T8. From what I could find, they occur at rather high elevation where the UVB would be higher. There is about a 12" space between...

    HELPING CHAMELEONS!

I agree, I also keep various species of anoles and day geckos, while I have been switching over to the Arcadia Shade Dweller 7% T5 fixtures with huge success, however have had years of success with the 5.0 UVB. Compact.
