Not cruel at all and will act as incentive for your chameleon to feed instead of worry about who is holding the food. And I agree with the statement that patience is key. They adjust, slowly.
I said you CAN get the opposite colouration. Emphasis on the CAN...not WILL. Which is correct. Nowhere in that statement did I make it a final word on the topic. It is true, especially given the background of my particular situation.

Yes, I have a gravid girl! Thought I responded to this earlier guys.
In response to the genetics conversation, the bloodlines are unknown in my male as he is captive bred but his Pappy was WC. So my comments about having a mix of bars are correct, in my situation. Which is all I'm...

Your guy sounds like he's developing just fine. Not all chams brighten up early. My male took a long while to start showing noticeable colour but he looks great now.
Fyi, dubia roaches are illegal in Canada. I wouldn't be advertising that...
If he's eating and drinking, getting the heat/humidity and correct lighting I would expect you will continue to see improvements in his health. He needs weight on him but he may never reach the full 'normal' size that another panther would who received proper husbandry from day 1.
