I've had my chameleon since June and I have never seen him drinking? I mist 2x daily for 2 minutes and he has a dripper on for 3 hours a day, more or less. His urates are white enough but I still worry? I'm curious if it's normal to never see the cham drinking? Or am I not being observant enough?
I know it's a lot and yes, correcting the problems will be pricy. I just had to tell you what I know because I'd hate for something to happen to your little guy/girl.
Another thing, your best bet is to remove the substrate. It's a risk for impaction and it will host bacteria. Best to leave the bottom bare. The vine you have seems to be flaky, which is another impaction risk. Best to go with real, sanitized branches! You are going to need to do a lot of...
Ok, I'm not the most experienced but I'll tell you some things that are obviously wrong. First of all you seem to have the compact uvb bulb. You'll need a linear uvb T5 5.0, you can try reptisun on amazon and you'll also need the hood for the linear bulb. Chameleons need lots of ventilation and...
I am waiting for an order of 500 BSFL and I'm not sure how to care for them or how to extend their life? Also, are the BSF as good a feeder as the BSFL? How long will they live as BSF? Should I gutload? Should I still dust the BSFL? Thanks in advance.
So sorry for your loss. Your words brought tears to my eyes. I can see you are truly sad and it makes me wish my cham has many years left to spend with me.
Does anyone have experience getting feeders from thecritterdepot.com? Are they a reliable source? I purchased BSFL on Saturday from them and haven't even gotten a confirmation email yet. Just wanna make sure I can expect the feeders to actually arrive or I'll need to make other arrangements...
I got Camilo over a month ago and his previous owner had him only on crickets, no gutloading aside from Fluker's orange cubes, and the compact uvb bulb. I am feeding gutloaded crickets and superworms with leafy greens, sweet potato and butternut squash. I'll be changing this up when my gutload...
Thank you for the info! I had been supplementing with D3 only once a month, so I'll make a note to do it every 2 weeks. As for a roach colony, I have a phobia so that would probably give me a heart attack. It is unfortunate because I keep seeing how great of a feeder they are.
Thank you! I'll be getting a lower wattage bulb to try and fix the temperature being so high. As for humidity, I'm not sure what I could do to lower it, since I only mist twice a day and it seems to stay that humid throughout the day anyway.
I'll get rid of the rope tomorrow when Camilo is awake. Didn't realize it could harm him. So many little things to keep an eye out for. As for roaches, I'll be honest, I could get my hands on discoids but I have a terrible roach phobia that extends even to feeder ones. I don't think I'm at the...
Hello,
my 15 year old niece got a veiled cham for her birthday at the end of April. She got the kit from petco, crickets, and the Fluker's orange cube to feed the crickets. From past experience of keeping other animals I knew from
the start she must have the set up wrong from listening to...
