What dry food could I use other than high protein diet? I picked this out because it includes alfalfa along with other greens. But you are right about the vitamins I didn’t think about that. I’ll stick to dandelion, kale, and collards then
I’ve ground up this rabbit food with dried apple orange and banana peels.
Is this good gutload? I also always give steady greens vegetables and occasional fruit.
Full grown? I’m not sure a PetCo would own an adult like this. She’s been in my care for a little over a month. No idea what conditions she was in at PetCo whether there was males inside with her. I’m guessing she’s approaching half a year old. Here’s a photo of her head next to a quarter for...
my Bioactive enclosure still has to be welded. Then my plans are for a real naturalistic look with expanding foam and silicone with coco husk and cork halves. It’s gonna take a couple months and she will have that time to grow. I will have upgraded my way of containing the water as the water...
Since we are on this topic. Cleaner crews. When do they get out of hand? I just added a small amount of both Dermestid and Lesser Mealworm Cleaners to my 60 female 11 male, 200+ nymph colony
For my female Panther she was actually quite fearful of roaches when I tried to give her first ones. I had to start by (sorry to say) crushing the roach then put it inside and the dying body moves and sparks interest. I also leaned off superworms for Dubias recently. You have to be a little...
Sounds perfectly do-able, if she seems egg ready I’ll mix this up quick. Any reasons not to breed? Her lifespan is quite short and I’d like to keep one of her sons I think it’d be a beautiful clutch
Thanks for all the quick responses!! As for the worm I use superworms which is probably why she’s chubby. I have put in a bin of coco fiber but she hasn’t started to dig in it at all. How deep should the bin be? I’m using a small tubberware with it filled halfway so if she starts to dig it won’t...
Started getting back on track with calcium to feeding. She’s displaying far more variety of color. Is this because of age? Diet? Agitation? Anything helps! I started giving calcium without D3 with her daily roach nymph. Every other day more than one. She eats a staple of crickets and worms with...
I can say after the weekend that my enclosure is fly free. No maggots or any pests inside. Adding the shipments that will be at my local post office later this week will be the final post for a couple months. My thoughts on this are Huge Success!
Thanks for the proper schedule, it lines up with how I’d been feeding besides calcium at every feeding. D3 every other week and vitamin every week after. I’ll rework all that into my routine. I have a bin ready, I don’t think she’s ready for first clutch but I’ll add it in sometime soon. Gonna...
1 umm no
2 the inconsistency of when to use supplements is hell online. Can I trust nobody blogging about how to care for Panther Chameleon? (This is where I get most of my care guides)
3 probably not, the 2 minutes of misting to start drinking thing? If that’s the case I’d be flooding my room...
Try to not eat me alive guys, yes it was 12 seconds. Both nozzles are within the enclosure so it makes everything wet inside. Also, just because I don’t remember a plant name doesn’t mean I neglected to order something non-toxic for my reptile. 12 seconds every hour has worked great compared to...
Your Chameleon - Panther Chameleon, unknown locale, female, maybe 5-6 months old, only in my care for a month.
Handling - Handles well, never runs or gaping. Usually only once a week do I handle.
Feeding - I started with superworms and crickets, have moved on to Dubia roaches and crickets. 10-15...
