I got a 4 month old female veiled as a rescue because someone's kid wasn't feeding it right. she wasn't getting any vitamin powders and i think they were only feeding mealworms and crickets. When i got her she wasnt emaciated but would have been if they had waited any longer.
Ive had her for a...
I filled out the thingy in the pinned post just in case.

So i actually own a 3 year old male veiled so i'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to keeping and feeding an adult. I recently acquired a rescue and she's only 4 months old.
1. I am not familiar with keeping one this small
2. I am not sure how much i should be feeding/how often.

I took in a rescue a month ago and didnt recognize any of her lights or fixtures. now i know my big boys fixture takes a 22' bulb. Today, my little rescue's uvb bulb bit the dust. Old owner said it was only 4 months old but when i took the bulb out the end piece fell off and it was completely...
is it normal for them to stop shooting their tongue? i started cup feeding him last year so now he just chomps at his bugs instead of shooting for them also now that he's stopped using his tongue so much that when he does try to use it he misses. if i dont put them in a cup he will sit for days...
She seems 100% healthy. But she doesnt like to bask under her heat lamp. i have 2 branches for her one is 90F the other is 80F. i recently just got her and her lights were all wrong. She didnt hhave basking lamp at all she had a double dome wit 1 florescent light and 1 UVB that wasnt working...
well she has a good gradient of temps in her cage and today she did stray onto the lower basking branch (80F). she mostly sits under her uvb strip though.
to put up a feeding cup i sliced little holes around one side and weaved in metal twine then used the last 2 inches of it to make hookss...
if someone can tell me whether she looks a good weight or not that would be great because then i can work on remodeling all her branches and take out that fake silk plant
also, is it normal for them to hide after a move? i got my guy at just over a year and he wasnt shy at all. the cages set...
here i figured it out lol. shes hiding in the bottom of that fake plant and not basking at all. i don't even know what these lightts are that came with her im surprised she lived this long
she is up and moving around her cage now but wasnt interested in eating any thing. she looks good so just needs time to adjust and get on a normal feeding schedule
i was able tto weave the metal twine around the cup and it just hangs on the cage like a bird bowl wold do. i know this is her first time in a new home aqhnd she is out and about checking everything out. she must not be hungry cause she ttoss her nose up to dubias and a veggie salad
