Hey guys, unfortunately I have to sell my sambava panther that I've had since he was 3 months old (Kammer baby) due to job relocation and I won't be able to bring him with me. This guy has NO issues at all and will eat anything you put in front of him, I've kept him on a strict supplement and...
Hey Chamo, I started out with a jackson too and then moved on to a panther, which was definitely more aggressive towards me in the beginning but has calmed a little bit since then. I will admit, though I love my jackson, all the colors my panther puts out is amazing, and he is already almost...
Well in the first few pics he looks pretty good, but in the 2nd set of pics if it's day time he should not be taking a "nap". What kind of lights do you have on the cage? Other than that just make sure he's eating and drinking well, especially drinking
My Jackson loooves to be sprayed and stands in the center of my mister and gulps water the whole time, its pretty awesome :) Being sprayed directly also helps them wash out their eyes, so even though my panther doesn't like being sprayed too much I will spray him occasionally. In any case, they...
haha yea he definitely has attitude, anytime my fingers get near him he hisses and tries to bite me, i have to use gloves to take him outside! lol
Thanks Carol, I can't wait until his 2nd shed with me to see how his colors develop, your Romeo is a beautiful Sambava, hopefully mine will look...
:D So i finally got my backyard set up and got a chance to take my chams out today and get some pics.... First up is my 4 month old Sambava, no name right now, and 2nd is my xanth Hornelius
sorry for the loss man, about 3 days ago I had my Jackson out in his hibiscus and, 15 minutes later he was gone but thankfully my backyard isn't too big and my search party found him in about 45 minutes (longest minutes of my life!). Best of luck to you though
I have the water tray also, and all I did was simply drill about 2-3 holes in the tray, towards the back, and put a bucket under neath the holes, once it fills up i just dump it out :)
Maybe he sees other trees that he's trying to get too, I know when i take my guys out they climb every where and sometimes even climb down the tree to get to another area, it can be nerve racking sometimes haha
haha yea sorry, I looked at the supps again and i meant rep-cal for the calcium, I use repto-life as my multi. And the names Matt btw :D
He actually ate all his crickets this morning (of course this would happen as soon as i post this thread lol) so I was definitely happy to see that, I guess...
Hahah its amazing how we start to care more about their well being then ours! What worms did you feed him when on the cricket strike? I've read on here that only worms are unhealthy
^Allen, I do dust calcium w/o D3 at every feeding, and D3/multivitamin about twice a month. I'm moving into a new house soon with a bigger back yard so I'll be able to take him outside a lot more. Hmm that does make sense about the worms tasting better than the crickets so maybe he's just...
thanks for the advice a2z, right now im offering him crickets, butterworms, and hornworms and he seems to like all of them, but what worries me is that he just doesn't eat from the cup inside the cage and he won't eat from my hand. Oh well, i'll just have to wait it out then lol, I was thinking...
