Deerfield Beach =/= Miami.
In that case, check out Beverley's pet store. It's a warehouse sized exotic pet store that specializes in tropical fish (they have a huge indoor pond with reef fish), and they sometimes have various simian animals as well. It's the most impressive pet store I've...
I would recommend heading to either South Beach or Ft. Lauderdale and just walk around / sit at random outdoor cafe, order your beverage of choice, and enjoy.
In South Beach, I recommend Club Bed (famous for tuesday nights) and Niki Beach.
thanks all. he will be getting checked in the near future again to make sure, and i think i'm going to clean his cage again really well especially where he poops.
[edit] vet is dr. strauss in weston.
:D
Also it turns out what I thought was a nasal discharge was actually some built up shed skin. He started shedding yesterday and the piece is starting to come off on its own; it's only hanging on by a thread of shed skin. This was the best possible outcome, because it might have been a growth...
Last time I had a plumber at my house I asked him about helping me build a rain system. My idea was pvc connected to my home's RO system; line the pvc (with holes to allow dripping water on many spots) over the cages and control it with some kind of valve/timer. Too bad I never followed through.
I almost lost my veiled outside once...was free ranging him when the doorbell rang. I put him back in his cage, but in my haste forgot to latch the cage shut fully. Anyway I sign for the package at the door, return outside, and the cage door is partially open and no chameleon in sight :eek...
Same thing happened to me. Your vet can order you the ponazuril. Larry (my veiled), has been on the ponazuril for almost a week now and he has been behaving normally, eating/drinking and roaming his cage like he always does. Yesterday I spent all day cleaning his cage, including disinfecting...
last year there was a fire at my house. it started after we had some roof work done. the hot tar melted through our roof and started an electrical fire. luckily, we noticed it early and the fire department was there within 3 minutes of giving the operator my address. everyone, human and animal...
can be as simple or as complicated as you choose. simplest would be take a rubbermaid container, slit holes on the lid, and make sure your dripper/mister water falls into that after hitting leaves/vines (not directly into plant soil), and replace it daily.
my veiled is enjoying the rain outside as i type this post. i position his outdoor cage so part of it is exposed to rain/direct light and the rest of the cage is in shade. creates a nice basking perch for him as well.
i never even knew you could post pics that way. i always uploaded to photobucket/imageshack and use [img] tags, like every other internet forum in existence.
I used to order silks from coastal silkworms, and get crix, supers, etc at petco/mart now I just order all of my feeders from mulberry for convenience.
Is the water going right into the plant? Try to reposition the plant/mist heads so that it gets less water. This can happen with drippers that drip directly into the plant as well. Also it can be a sign of inadequate drainage.
it's tough to hold him, get his mouth open, and inject the medicine with only two hands. next time i'll open his mouth and have someone else inject the medicine.
