What activities or programs would you recommend getting on your resume before you apply? I am in HS and am wondering what I can do to boost my chances to get into a pre vet program
Yeah haha! The main part of my house is warmer, but her cage is in the finished basement of my house (there was no space for her upstairs). It's got heating there but it's pretty inefficient and the basement is kinda big so it's hard to heat it up :( I can see if there might be an old space...
Yep, it's a screen cage. I brought her to the vet (unrelated) and the vet suggested against using heat mats because she could burn herself, but she doesn't climb on the floor so I feel like it wouldn't affect it ? Do you have any brands to recommend?
Hi guys, the New England winter is upon us, and my cham's cage isn't holding heat as well as it did in the summer months. I need to raise the whole ambient temp around 10-15 ish degrees to make sure she stays warm. Does anyone have suggestions? I've read that heat mats don't work very well...
My lovely veiled chameleon Ophelia is gravid for the first time! I will insert a picture below, it's super blurry but you can make out the orange spots. I am very nervous because she is my first ever chameleon and I want to make sure I can take care of her as best I can, but I am also so happy...
A good way to keep the temps up could be a ceramic heat emitter, I am in New England in the US and the temperatures can get pretty cold at night in the winter but I have a small ceramic heat emitter from Amazon that works really well. Its also good becsuse they don't give off any light so it...
I am also a first time cham owner! I've had my veiled Ophelia for a few months now. I would totally suggest getting one from a previous owner who needs to sell, you can probably find many on craigslist/ebay and other websites (mine's previous owner had to go to college and couldn't care for...
I use an exo terra monsoon solo. You have to refill it daily but it works like a charm. You could ask the pet sitter to refill it when they go to feed. You can customize the timing of the mistings to make it similar to how your cham would feel if you were home. I know a lot of people are saying...
Yes, there are potted plants suspended above the bin. My cham has been acting totally normal, so my best guess is it somehow got into the sand at the hardware store or it lived in the plant and fell out, since I couldn't find anything online about chams getting giant tapeworms. Thank you so...
Please help! This morning I went downstairs and found THIS in my ~8/9 mo old cham's laing bin, in the tester hole I dug her.
I did get her from a pervious owner -- could she have had a tapeworm or something the whole time and I didn't notice? Wll she be ok now that it's out? What even is this...
Sorry about the bad quality, I had to take 2 from outside the cage. I think the third one shows her pattern, but the spots are a little darker than it looks.
Hi all, my veiled chameleon has been hiding from me the past few days when I go to try feeding her. She will climb up into the corner of her enclosure on the screen and refuses to take from the tongs anymore. I made a feeder cup and started using it on Monday as my school schedule prevents me...
