I have spotted a few mites in the mealworm container, should i get rid of the container and worms? How can i prevent the mites from getting to the chameleon?
I have added a 10.0 exa-terra florescent tube and a normal florescent tube, much more light. Couldn't find a zoomed one.
She is still drinking well and the poop looks good.
Thanks all for your help and suggestion. My cham is finally got a good appetite and now i can't keep up with her food demand.
Factors that could have caused the hunger strike :
- New cage
- Winter in South Africa therefore cold
- She was shedding
- Introduction of cup feeding
- Using 5.0...
I need to check if my cham is pooping or not. How and when is the best way to do this. She feels threatened when i watch her and hides and keeps an eye on me. Any suggestions?

If you havn't read any of my previous posts, my 8-10 week old cham isn't eating much, but is drinking like a sailor. At this age she eating as much as she can. She seems to eat the odd worm i place next to her, but dosn't really hunt them down.

Basking temp about 89.6
Room temp about 68 (Winter here)
Outside temp about 73.4
No substrate

As my cage is a small one and i am using a Reptarium, can i use a 5.0 and a 10.0 UVB compact fluorescent lamps ? Will the cham get an overdose of UVB ? Is too much bad?

I have a 38 gal Apogee Reptarium, with a 75 watt basking lamp and Reptisun 5.0 uv compact fluorescent lamp. To me it looks pretty dark inside the cage, how can i brighten up the cage? can i use normal lights/bulbs ?

Where is the best place to put the basking spot, I have placed my one near the feeding cup so my cham can see the food when going to bask. Is this a good idea, any suggestions?
