I fear my 8 year old male Jacksons chameleon is nearing the end of his life. about a month ago he became a picky eater. It wasn’t a big deal, he was still eating after we tried different bugs to incorporate into his diet, but it was extremely hard to get him to eat. He would only eat off of...

I built this cage for my jacksons chameleon a few years ago, its starting to fall apart a little bit. Im also moving into a smaller place in a few months and I was wondering if it would freak him out too much if i got a smaller cage for him? Or if i should just try to replace the screen on the...

Thank you!!!

My 2 Year old Jacksons has been having some trouble shedding on the top of his head and around his horns. I’ve tried all that I can think of, I started misting his cage more and for the past week ive been putting him on a plant in the shower for about 10 minutes while it runs but it still hasnt...

his lights are on automatic timers, 12 hrs on 12hrs off. I do have led plant lights that i need to set up still, his basking bulb does heat up his enclosure quite a bit around the afternoon and i notice him gaping, so i might try letting him bask in the morning for a few hours, turning it off...

yeah i think ill continue to gutload with fresh food, only thing im changing is what brand of supplements i use, im switching to the rep cal brands. tysm, he really loves to sit on his little tree outside on nice days.

Yes… i moved recently and some plants got damaged in the process, so i had to replace them with some fake vines for now until his new plants come in. Thats also why i had to find a new vet, my old vet was great and said his schedule was absolutely fine and that the only thing i should change...

I took enchilada back to the vet today, they said he was doing good and prescribed me some more silver sulfadiazine for his burn on his back, its healing well. My vet mentioned something to me about lightened areas on the top of his casque and said they could be signs of a serious...

It actually worked out! I lived on the 10th floor of an apartment building next to the beach, it would get insanely hot. I recently moved into a house thats only one floor, and the house stays colder compared to the last place i lived in. the 65w bulb is working perfectly now, temperatures are...

My house temp says 72 but unfortunately i live in one of the hotter areas of california and sometimes i cant control the temp change. I have automatic timers so ill think of a schedule where i can turn his basking light off occasionally! he does love to bask around this time (9 am cali) and...

Thank you ill look at that site! I just returned the 75w bulbs i bought and found the 60w at walmart. I just switched it out and his basking temp has stayed at 78 since this morning. I have a little fan in my room that spins and it helps with the temperature, his cage is almost 6ft tall and its...

Thank you! ive always been confused about the correct temp for jacksons. I live in california so it gets extremely hot in my area, my room itself gets up to 80 degrees. I switched his bulb to a 75w house bulb and the basking temp seemed to go down. i just got him a mistking so ill try running it...

Its all good thank you, even my vet said it was stuck shed because it was so small and only that one spine. I have a digital thermometer/hygrometer at the top near the basking branch and i use a temp gun occasionally to check the ambient temp. Sometimes the 100w heating bulb i have gets too hot...

In case anyone wanted an update, I managed to get some silver sulfadiazine cream, still waiting on beta-dine/iodine to be delivered so i can clean it properly but for now i'm cleaning it with warm sterilised water and q tips and applying the cream 3x a day. enchilada is doing better :) thank you

Would i need a prescription for the cream or is it something i can pick up? His lamp is raised by two wooden slats now after i noticed the initial white spot

It was around 80 degrees before, and she asked me to raise it to 85. its been consistently that, measured with a digital thermometer. His ambient temp is around 78 degrees

Ill call my vet and ask if shes able to write me a prescription

Enchilada went to the vet last month to get a check up and i asked them about this white spot on his spine it started out like that and my vet ruled it out as stuck shed and recommended i get a little piece of cotton soaked with water and apply it. This morning i noticed this should i take...

I ordered a lamp stand i can clip on the side of his enclosure but for now i propped it up with two rocks so it isnt touching the top of the mesh. Thank you, ill keep an eye on the retained shed.

I noticed this white spot on my chams spine, its the only part of his body that stays lighter when he changes color. I thought it was stuck shed, but ive been giving him longer mistings so most of the stuck shed cleared up and im worried its a burn from his heat lamp.
