Hey All, I've seen my Jackson do this weird headbob thing twice now, it looks similar like what the males do to attract a female. What is confusing to me is that my boy isnt anywhere near a female. What is he doing??

Is this head bobbing behavior "normal"

I had my male panther chameleon in is outside enclosure for a little while this afternoon. He'll be 2 years old in June and has been outside plenty, but we've moved and there's almost nothing around here for him to look at (not to the human eye at least). Suddenly he became very fixed on...

Has your male cham ever head bobbed at you..?

It’s happened to me twice, now. And it’s all coming from my newest boy! He even had the stripey colors on his eye turrets that male panthers usually display when they see a lady nearby. Not sure what to make of this beyond offering him a cold shower.. 🤔 Could it be a defensive behavior?

    Head Bobbing?

My Jackson's was head bobbing at me this morning, this is the first time I've observed this behavior... I was offering a hornworm, and he started his little dance. Does this mean he's becoming a man? His age was unknown when I got him, I'd say about 3 months old. He's between 5-6 months...

2 chameleon experiments: wind / head bobbing

...at a small fraction of the enclosure. (and i'd also wait 'til my cham was a bit more developed) 2: My second experiment idea involves head bobbing. In my research I've found this to be part of the mating ritual, as if to say "Hey, 'sup, I like you, I'm gonna come closer" It seems to be...

This afternoon, Monty saw his refection and reacted to it by head bobbing! It was the cutest thing ever! Now, I am interested to know if Jacksons (and chams in general) head bob only as a mating thing or if it is also done as a threat gesture to other males? Here's a video of the little...
