This is my first Pygmy Terrarium.
I used a 3 inch layer of "Hydro-balls" covered with mesh.
Next I mixed Eco Earth, moss and organic potting soil together.
At my local nursery I found a small umbrella tree, fern, ivy, ficus, baby tears, and a spotted plant which I forget the name of.
I removed the plants from their pots and washed the soil off as best I could, making sure there was no fertilizers left behind. Also making sure not to damage their root systems, I then transplanted each plant into about 4-5 inches of the substrate.
I have a huge ficus in my yard, which i trimmed to collect natural branches of different thickness'.
My lighting is just a t5 natural daylight bulb. I turn it on at 8am and off at 8pm.
My house stays at 72-74 through out the day, reach close to 60 at night.
I will be purchasing my pygmies in about a week!
