My DIY outside enclosure *pic heavy*

Here is my first ever go at something like this, it's a bit rough around the edges. It's not quite finished as I want to add a latch etc to it but the actual build is complete. Please tell me what you think. It's just for my male veiled cham for the "good" weather we get here in England lol.

Just wanted to say a MASSIVE thanks to SliK JiM because without his help this wouldn't be possible!

It looks great! What a way to spend Easter weekend! Hopefully we'll have better weather this summer (well any sort of summer would be better than last year!) so the chams can go outside!

Also would pothos be safe to be kept outside in the enclosure? or would I have to keep it inside for most of the year and then take it outside in the summer?

Pothos fry in direct sun, if you can give it shade for at least half the day, it should survive. Pretty tough to kill.

Nice netting, this looks like an easy project, I might do this.

Excellent work for someone who was so affraid to give it a go. I bet u build all your own cages from now on. Again nice job...

Hey mate! That looks great! I don't think you could have done anything to make it better! The idea to add the back braces was definitely a good one! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing this outside with your cham in it!

Pothos has never worked well for me. Don't know why, as I'm getting delightful results with other plants, just not it! For outside vivs you might want to try a grape vine (vittis vinifera - it will grow well in summer especially in full light and will produce leaves and grapes that your cham will love to eat!) Also, you might want to use camellia (camellia sunsong or japonica) will be great and are evergreen so are great all year round! Here's a picture of the growth of mine:

That was after about 2 weeks! It's a great plant, really strong branches and is edible if necessary!

looking great slik jim.

Here's my latches which I added today. (I'm also going to add 4 more plates to the front end of the enclosure to make it just that lil bit more secure)

I added the plates going the oposite way to the ones on the back so it is ALOT more secure now. It has extra bracing for backwards, forwards, left and right now.

Not just yet. I will prob this weekend or next weekend. I've got to pay off some more of my holiday for the summer lol.

o my carpet is terrible! That is my bedroom so I must admit i've been lazy as no one will see it (up until now!) I have spilt so much stuff on there that has stained it. Plus I needed to run the hoover through after the sawing etc, still haven't done it yet mind lol

34mm thick I think.

No idea where you get camellia atm sorry.

Where do you get your Camellia plants from? I looked in B&Q today but didn't find any.

Its at my local garden centre. You probably won't find places like B&Q/Homebase selling them! Don't know why though! Just find your nearest garden centre and you can bet that they'll have tonnes as they're a really easy plant to grow that is very attractive! :D

Cool I might get one for the indoors then for now and then transport it outside when he's going out. Or buy two, depending on the cost lol.
