Well, here is enclosure No.3 - hopefully this will be the last one...... for Ringo anyway ;)
Fairly happy with it, although I might move the lighting around as Ringo isnt really under the UV tube when he is basking, what do you think ?
Any comments are welcome btw, I love to learn :)...
I too do long shifts at work, and have had to rely on my family to hand mist Ringo. This is much easier for them now he is in his new (DIY) enclosure, but can still be difficult.
My Exo Terra Monsoon RS 400 gave up on me recently. The timer failed and ran itself dry, and all day  Being...
Yep, the plastic stuff ;) Seems to work ok, although Ringo is still fairly young, so will be interesting to see how it handles him when he's a little heavier ! Quite a heavy gauge, so I dont think there will be any problems tbh.
Enclosure No.3 should be finished by the end of the week and I...
I received my Silk Worms in a carton which contained the mesh pictured below. I asked the supplier where he got the mesh and he said a local garden centre. I searched the garden centres near me and voila I found it.
The cost is very reasonable at £1.99 per 1m (off the roll) x 0.7m wide. So...
Nothing too exciting to most, but i've not seen my lil fella shed since I got him and after missing the first 4, I finally got to see him shed..... 5th times the charm *yay* :D
Thanks for the replies.
Hoj, I have been looking at getting a solar meter, but I have to save some more pennies first :p Hopefully I will be getting one next month, but I'm not sure what the 'safe level' reading would be ?
I also had a look at lightyourreptiles and... wow, I just wish...
I am in the process of finishing my new enclosure. Dimensions are 2ft(D) x 4ft(W) x 5ft(H). I have a large Pothos, a very large Ficus and a Rubber plant to go in there. I thought to myself while I'm doing it I will upgrade my lighting too. After doing a lot of reading on the topic, I've decided...
Thx for the replies. Humidity is generally 50-55% rising to around 65% after a shower. I have noticed its 'darker' at the bottom of the enclosure, as the Pothos is running riot atm :p This will change when I finish the new enclosure this week.
I will keep an eye out to see if they come up...
I had a bit of a shock this morning when I looked in my fellas enclosure - what I thought were new sprouts of Pothos have turned out to be mushrooms
I took them out straight away. The Pothos had been re-potted with organic soil some time ago, so I'm not sure where they came from. Could...
When I first got Ringo, I had substrate in the bottom of his viv. Then I saw him pick up some substrate with his lunch. He wasnt able to spit it out and swallowed it. For me it was just too much of a risk so I removed all the substrate (and built a different enclosure, but thats a different...
A bit of a silly question, but how long can I keep my cham outside in the sunny weather we are having atm ?
I have made a little outdoor vine and leaf pot for him, so theres enough shade if he wants it ;)
