    Glutton or Hungry??

So my year old panther chameleon has always been a lover of food. She gets about 7-10 large crickets a day, but some times I skip a day. She will always eat them, doesn’t matter if it’s from my hand or hunting. I weighed her the 17th of December, not knowing at the time she was carrying eggs...

    Handling??

She's in an exo terra skyscraper (She has been in this since I got her at around 8 months old and has no issues and it's best for me to keep humidity up. So please no people that flip at me for using glass.) and is a panther chameleon almost year old female.

    Handling??

So I am away at college, but I come back quite a bit for the weekend and while i'm away my mom takes care of my reptiles. She is happy to watch them, but is terrified of them touching her and ever since I left (and the fact it is to cold to take her outside now) my Lolita will race my mom to try...

    HELP Glass Enclosure advice

The small vents are the difference of air flow and being healthy. Also the front opening doors make it so their isn't a big scary creature reaching into your space and scaring the animals and one coming head on where they can see it all. They are more secure as well with the locks and latches as...

    Freaking Myself Out

Chameleon Info: Your Chameleon - 8 month old female panther chameleon. Handling - It depends...when i'm at school she never gets handled and when I come home every other weekend she gets taken outside for like an hour, but she always tried to climb on people to come out. Feeding - About 6 gut...

    HELP Glass Enclosure advice

Trust me I have heard of and seen people use fish tanks and honestly no reptile should be in a fish tank. I think it's cuz you can get a 20gallon fish tank at a yard sale for $5 instead of paying $80 for a vivarium. In my experience glass works better for my panther than a screen did, it's much...

    Freaking Myself Out

Ok I just got freaked out cuz she'll do it some times, but it's like she doesn't understand why she can't move, so I just thought it was cuz she was having a stupid moment haha. Cuz she would want to keep moving it's just she grabbed herself instead.

    Handling while medicating

When I first got my female panther she was so friendly and wanting to come out fast forward to having to give her oral medicine (which tasted and smelled like banana bread kinda cool my vets have different flavors) for a very mild case of mouth rot. She hated me and would run from me and not...

    HELP Glass Enclosure advice

Glass tanks can be used, but not aquariums! Vivariums are the only glass enclosures imo that should be used since they are designed for reptiles and air flow. For my panther female I use the Zoomed skyscraper and it's perfect. It is around $130, but if you want a pet you pay whatever it takes...

Panther chameleon only opening his mouth 10%.

I'd take him to an experienced vet that has worked with chameleons to check specifically for mouth rot or any other issues in the mouth. Most likely it's mouth rot or an abscess in the mouth that could be draining into his throat which just like for people makes it hurt and sore.

    New owner, just paranoid?

Just a little note think of her as a child and at 10pm she needs to be in bed. Chams should get a solid amount of straight sleep and feeding at night with no lights on (because they usually can't sleep with them on) means she can't digest the food till the morning lights. I'd try to feed her...

    Freaking Myself Out

Literally the selfie with me and her was taken last week and the other phone was during that same week. Also in the picture showing her side if you look on my wrist you can see where she pulled skin up from gripping me a bit, so she isn't weak. I just need reassurance or something guys.

    Freaking Myself Out

So here I am again freaking out...big surprise. I was just looking around at threads and one mentioned that if a cham is grabbing itself it's a sign of MBD...Lolita does it occasionally, but like manly if she is climbing on me and goes to grab something she'll grab her front leg. She then gets...
