    Calling on Fellow Tegu Keepers!

I recently acquired a Columbian ('gold') Tegu. I was looking to nerd out in excitement with anyone else that admires these brilliant intelligent creatures inside their home! She is 4 months right now, so is still pretty tiny, but Im beginning my planning stages for her large custom built...

Anyone know of a place for this that ships to Canada?

    Help?

Each chameleon MUST be housed separately, so I'm not sure I understand your question. Gender does not change the amount fed. Check out the care resources (left hand side under navigation) for amounts to feed by age! :)

Interesting thoughts on vet care / ethics of life

Looking at their suffering and not ours is the key to modern ethics Ah... this one's hard. I recently finished an animal ethics course in University (Post-Humanism and Animal Ethics) and we dove into everything from slaughterhouses, to animals used for testing in labs, to the common household...

    Very true! Thanks Laurie! :)

    Are sperm plugs normal?

I've never seen this from my boy before! He's my first veiled ~9months old. Could this be the reason why his appetite hasn't been normal lately (thus causing his bowel movements to be less frequent)? The urates say that my hydration is okay... I'm confused! Lol Is this going to happen every time...

    Vet Visit

Ill post a link here for handling. I found it most useful, and a lot of the stuff I had known, but I hadnt connected the dots. Luckily I researched it before I got my first boy! :) Good luck with the trip!

    Cham laxative?

Thanks for that link! I got a bunch of urates from all the hydration yesterday, and a very tiny amount of poop! That's a step! Force feeding him the powdered mix that I was given by the vet causes quite a bit of stress on him, do you think its okay to stop this for a few days and see if he...

    Cham laxative?

Update I'm off work today, so I've been watching him very closely. I've kept the humidity at 80-90%, having a drip on the entire time and misting every half-hour. I just finished "feeding him" Carnivore Care with 2 drops of mineral oil (2 drops, because most of it misses his mouth anyways, so I...

    Cham laxative?

Thanks guys. Ill try the hot water. He isn't eating, I already tried to get him to eat a few horns/silks. But I can't go back to this until he starts eating again! Carol, it's been almost 2 weeks now, and I did a VERY thorough clean of the cage last week, and again yesterday hoping that I had...

    Cham laxative?

Alright, so I just finished at the vet a few days ago. We did a full check of my husbandry stuff, so I'm not going to bother giving any of that. We've also done an xray to eliminate any possibility that we misread my cham as female in case eggs were a problem. He's male for sure. There is...

    Sage?

Is sage harmful if I feed it to my crickets (and then feed the sage crickets to my cham)? Anyone know? I have a bunch of fresh sage!

    New Veiled Chameleon with MBD

^ For the above note, the superworm heads can be squished to make it easier for them to stay in the mouth, if you are still having problems in that area. I was given carnivore care (a powder you mix with water and feed directly into the mouth 3x a day) while mine was in recovery from some...

    First vet check up/fecal analysis

I just had this problem! First vet appointment was today! I got a plastic tote and put a screen lit on it. Then put that in a bag (like one of those reusable grocery bags, large bag purses or whatever) to limit his visibility, so he wouldn't have to be stressed about being lower than me (buckled...
