How many times will a cham shed? What is normal? It seems like my cham sheds monthly.
Also... I'm very dissapointed in my cham :( I know these guys are not cats or dogs but my cham HATES to be held. He hisses and tries to bite us when we try to pick him up. Any suggestions to change this...
I apologize for not responding until now. When I returned home from work, Hank seemed to be doing fine. His tongue was in his mouth and all of the crickets that were once in the cage were gone. I fed him a couple more to see him eating in action and he was completely fine.
It definitely scared...
Most mornings my cham is very eager to eat his crickets and will strike his tongue at them before they even have a chance to come out of the bag. This is very typical of our cham. This morning he caught my boyfriends hand instead of the bag. I was not there when it happened but my boyfriend said...
I will give him an hour or two to digest before I turn the lights out. It's 8:00pm now. I probably shouldn't have fed him so late  I wasn't aware that they needed some light time to digest after feeding. Thanks for sharing.
I have a male veiled cham. I've had him for almost about a month and he's around 4 months old. I've been feeding him approx. 10 crickets a day around 7:30am. I've also tried introducing worms but he has no interest. (I haven't given up though)
The past week I've noticed that when I get home...
I was hesitant to try superworms because I've heard they are like steak compared to hot dogs lol and that some chams won't eat anything else after being introduced to them. Not to mention I can't find any small enough around here.
tried putting the worms on the branch.. nothing
As others mentioned maybe I should try and wedge the bowl I have into the limbs and leaves instead of attached to the side of the cage.
I knew he was shy but it didn't occur to me that it would effect his eating habits. Hopefully he will get used to me and break out of his shell  I have only had him a month.
*edit to add* how old is your cham?
My cham will not eat worms. I have tried hand feeding them, he "runs" the other way (he is still a baby and some days he wants nothing to do with me). I have tried placing them in a bowl in the bottom of the cage... nothing. Two days ago I finally attatched a bowl to the side of the cage in...
cham addict? I'm getting there ;) this is my first cham. Started out with a veiled. One day I would like to own a panther, however, I have a lot to learn first. My 3 1/2 year old son is really enjoying our Hank :) we just moved into our first home and really wanted a pet. Figured we'd start...
