Hi!
Our 1.5 year old Panther Chameleon has just started displaying the odd behavior of chewing the branches that he has and even the rubber vines (not actually eating!)
When I first got him I fairly regularly offered him Winter greens (called something else in America but I can't remember...
Thats a good idea Titan but unfortunately the owner before me trimmed his nails (and they never fully grew back) so he does occasionally fall off stuff.
Its good to hear that this is not an unusual trait, I'm gonna have to think of a solution that hopefully does not end up with me having to...
Thanks for all the responses, I found the problem!!!!!! Its a weird one!
He got less and less active and went grayer and grayer I got really worried about him and then yesterday he went to the toilet and it was HUGE like the size of a clipper lighter (for want of a better comparison!) I think...
Thanks for all the responses I have taken away his second hot spot to see if that helps, I did it this morning and he is still doing it at the moment but early days I guess.
Something that worried me slightly was that last time I took him to the vets they did some tests and found that he had...
Hi
I have a 1 year old Panther Male, he has a new cage which is actually a Parrot Cage but he seems to love climbing around the bars and we have got around the heat escape problems with lots of fake leaves around the top and my girlfriend is pregnant so we have the heating up super high all the...
Thanks! I will ring tomorrow. I have just been having a look at him, I have a horrible feeling that one side of his rib cage feels different to the other but I am too cautious to really have a poke about.
Update on the situation-
There is still a couple drops of blood after his faeces when he goes to the loo and his vent looks super sore and red at the end and takes a bit of time to retract. It also makes little popping noises when he goes which is very weird. I'm trying to find a vet that...
Our Panther Cham just went to the toilet and there was a couple of spots of blood after the faeces. The faeces itself had no blood in it but his vent looked sore and red when it was exposed.
I think he had got deyhydrated because there was no water in the matter. He has not been eating...
Oh! Bloody 'ell!!! I am now trying two types of Roach, black and brown crickets, locusts, meal worms, wax worms, collard greens and Pachnoda grubs...
He LOVES the Pachoda grubs but I have since found out that that they are just as nutritionally devoid as wax worms... Plus because they seem to...
Thanks! We figured that if we can keep a chameleon alive, keeping a baby is gonna be a walk in the park! ...As long as we remember to mist him regular!
Thanks for the advice, does anyone here know of anyone who has got sick from their chameleon? I will try to get a medical opinion and let you...
Hi! we have just found out that my girlfriend is 8 weeks up the duff, and she is a little upset because I told her it would probably be best if she didn't handle the chameleon.
I am in the understanding that lots of reptiles carry salmonella, I'm not sure how true this is or whether it...
No females... (though if I had the space I would love one.) He does do a funny sort of juddering dancing type movements when he is like that. Might be threatening... or wooing his reflection?!
