Could it be that the uvb is getting old cause it’s reaching the end of its life cycle of 6ish months

In my opinion to get a veiled to like you a lot start handling him make him comfortable with you but never force him try hand feeding so he associates you with food if he walks up to your hand great handle him a lot I handled mine for 10 mins a day when he was a baby and he trusts me completely
