When measuring your basking temp, are you guys measuring surface temp or ambient temperature up there?

A little off topic, but where in your cage do you put the govee's to get the most accurate basking /ambient temps? Did you attach it directly to the basking branch?
Yeah I used gorilla glue epoxy. The tiles I used were 18x24 inches. I had to trim about 6 in. off of the top tile on each wall, but the bottom two tiles on each wall fit perfectly snug!
