I had a question about dubias. Do you think that in taking my rubbermaid setup out of the dark and pulling some dubias out every other day to feed them off is bothering the colony? As in, do you think they would breed faster if I didn't bother them once every day?
hmmm:rolleyes:
Meaning:
"Should species, whose natural life can not be replicated in a captive habitat, be kept by enthusiasts like you and I? If so, should we strive for being 'humane' or 'rational/realistic' with our pets and can you go too far in one direction or the other?"
Even by...
You are doing everything fine. I would suggest that if the setup is in a room with good ventilation, move it to somewhere else not near a window or even in a cupboard to keep that heat in. You problem is only that they are not sexually mature yet  give it time
Once you see sexual...
I am trying to breed superworms right now so I can't tell you results yet. I can say that getting them from the larval to beetle stage is easy and caring for the beetles has been easy so far. I used a coffee grinder and ground up some oatmeal then put the beetles on that. Feed them some...
I did the same as ferret's picture but i cut the side panel super high so they crawl out when it is open sometimes.
I get a batch of gutload things and BLEND IT AND FREEZE IT in some ice trays. Pop em out, let em de-thaw, throw em in with the feeders and rehydrate it with water if necessary...
I can see all these spider-haters cheering for their chams when they attack your feeder roaches and things haha. Come on, it was a beauty!
I've seen some species of "false widows" a lot as a kid in my backyard in socal but I did not know about the Brown Widow until now. I'm wondering now if I...
What specifically would be poisonous in the pachira aquatica? Eating the leaves or is it thought to have a sap that can rub off into cham's eyes? I am of course referring to a panther chameleon which does not eat leaves..
Thanks!
21 months and also a year! And I thought I should have been impressed with myself for no eggs after 10 months..
Mine seems to be plumping up too. Will you actually see the eggs along her body as she stretches out or walks around? Mine has not done any digging. I tried to see if I could feel...
Gah! So I thought I saw my cham's armit fall out today..kind of.. You know that extra skin in a cham's front arm pit's? That indent of skin? My female's skin was bulging out right there today!?! It was quite odd, thought it was permanent, grabbed my camera, then the lump disappeared so i didn't...
Well I work with a professor on my campus. We do climatology research..usually isotopic ecology studies. Anyways, this year is quite interesting weather-wise. We have gotten a huge drop in Pacific sea temperatures and other factors which influence the Multivariate ENSO index(MEI).
Briefly, this...
I prefer Pet Kingdom in Point Loma for my feeders but I go to the Reptile City in Mission Gorge as well. I have my panther chameleons indoor for the winter here in La Mesa, so I don't have to fret about some <60F nights, but keep them in a screened patio most of the year. Beach weather, you...
