Hi all,
My 9 month old veiled is starting to show her pregnant colours, and her poop has gone from a normal dark brown colour to quite pale and milky. Her urates are very healthy looking though. Anyone know what the cause if this is?
Thanks.
Hi, no I don’t think she’s about to lay eggs (there isn’t a lay bin in her enclosure) as her colouring has been normal and she hasn't been looking at all chunky recently, if anything she seems quite skinny. After checking on her today, it seems that the paleness is starting to fade... I’m hoping...
Hi,
So a couple of days ago I noticed that half of my female veiled (about 7 months old) has gone quite pale. I first thought that it is probably just her getting ready to shed (she hasn’t shed for a few weeks so this would make sense). I also saw that it could also be a burn. Do you think this...
So my reptibreeze thermometer (the classic cheap probe one) I think has broken (it’s showing the temp as too high for some reason, like apparently the temperature in my house is 81 degrees according to it ?). I’m thinking about getting one of those Infared ones, do they work as well? Is there a...
Hi, I know some people don’t use substrate (I use that eco earth stuff) but for me it works well as it keeps up the humidity nicely (I live in quite a dry area) and my female veiled doesn’t eat it. Anyway, My cham never actually poos in her cage, it’s always on a little climbing frame I built...
Ok thanks for the info! And yeah she has a HO 5.0 linear UVB light and her Urates are very healthy, I’m going to start feeding her less now (also good because it’ll be much cheaper!).
I want to get a new basking bulb for my 6 month old female veiled as I want her basking spot temp to be a bit lower. I’ve previously had eco terra ones but after reading the reviews for the 50w ones apparently they don’t lasts very long.... I have an eco terra dome, anyone have any...
Ah ok thanks a lot, one last question though (last one I promise !?) does she not just turn brown all the time because of the low heat? Sorry for all the questions!!
Ok, noted, right now she basks at around 85-87 so I’m guessing that’s too high, what wattage reptile basking bulb should I get to achieve this temp? Right now I have an 85w bulb that I suspend a few inches above her cage.
