    In the dog house

Thanks Laurie. Something just to satisfy my curiosity; Is it Dubais or Dubias?

    In the dog house

Cheers Kate. By the sound of it, roach escape is just part and parcel of keeping chameleons. Good, I'll tell the wife "it's normal" :)

    In the dog house

Went to clean out my Dubais roaches today. They've done really well as would be expected. There's all sizes and all is going well. I put the lid on the container, picked the container up to put it in its heated cupboard and I dropped it (butterfingers). The roaches scattered to all corners of my...

    Algae Scrubber and bugs

Hi all. I've been running an algae scrubber on my marine tank now for a few years. I currently throw the algae away every fortnight (about 250g squeezed weight) but thought it may make a good food for my roaches, calci worms and crickets. I've done a quick search and it seems algae should be...

    I freakin HATE my monsoon

Strangely I seem to have the only monsoon on the planet that works great. It probably won't stay that way if it goes the same way as most others, but for now it works.

    veiled chameleon

Got our veiled a few months ago, just add light, heat, water, food and branches. They grow like crazy. So far, very little hassle, compared to a cat or dog. Dunno why we didn't get one before now. If I had a choice, we would have a house full of them.

    Would warm water be better?

Surely a design formality. Free heat :) Had the empty (unpressurised) tube around the light for a while with no melting. This stuff is ok to about 170C apparently. The point is that perhaps the stuff coiled around the light is sufficient in length to supply the cham with warm water, and the...

    Build threads?

Thanks everyone. These are exactly what I was after. :)

    Build threads?

From a background of build threads of reef tanks, it seems a bit strange to me that a similar method is not applied to looking after chams. Obviously there may be a reason but I have not found it yet. Ideas?

    Would warm water be better?

Understood, thanks :) I'll keep my eyes peeled when I try it.
