I see. The other day I found the cup at the bottom of the cage. It's a mystery to me. But he still shoots at it from long range!

The rock is made of styrofoam. It's a little coarse but I would say it is less abrasive then the screen of my cage. I don't feel it would be dangerous. And the cup is plastic so no issue there.

Each chameleon's personality is different. You can go by trends but there are always exceptions. Panther's can generally be easy going but I also had one that would actually bite. It is true that veils are hardy but panthers are not far behind either.

I don't warm my water but you could just put a small aquarium heater in your reservoir if you really want it warm. I figured that my room temperature water was fine and kind of helped with my temperature gradient.
