Our 7 month old panther chameleon will not eat crickets or locusts of of any description. I've tried all sizes and colours I can get my hands on but he won't touch them. I tried offering nothing else for 3 days but that just meant he ate nothing for those 3 days and that about as long as I'm...
Hope it's OK to keep updating this thread with new photos!
His colours have really started to get more vibrant after his latest shed.
He's started wanting to climb on me too, he'll stretch his wee hands up to me until I put a hand out for him to climb on. Then he goes up and sits on my head...
He's just shed again, 3 weeks since last time. I thought it would be gradual but it all kind of lifted off in one big piece then started to crack away.
Caught him having a drink earlier, I've tried explaining to him that firing his tongue at water droplets is the least efficient way to drink but he doesn't listen. It's like having a second child.
Hi, can anyone tell me if I should be remineralising my RO water before using it for my chameleon?
I've been using it without really thinking but mine is always 0 TDS as it's for a reef tank. I know humans aren't supposed to drink 0 TDS water as it can pull salts out of our bodies through...
That's really cool, how long do you let him out for? My son is absolutely obsessed with setting up a free range area for him so he can be out and about a little bit a few times a week but I need to get the new enclosure built before we do anything like that!
Yeah, it usually ends up being more like 7 and a half hours, I turn it on before I go to bed about midnight once the enclosure has had a chance to cool down a wee bit, then turn it off at about half 7 in the morning when I go through to see him.
I'm just doing all lights on an 7.30 then off at 7.30pm but mostly because nothings automated yet, eventually I'll have it all on timers and play about with the different schedules to see what works best.
Inch plants look really cool, had to Google it and realised I'd seen it before under a...
Another thing I'm getting a bit confused by is the basking light? I thought this stayed on all day with the uvb but I'm seeing some people only having it on for a couple of hours twice a day? I assumed the sun is up all day and he can move in and out of shade of he wants to so why would you turn...
