No he doesn’t open it even when we annoy him. The vet said it wasn’t sealed shut, but “sticky” because of the pus. I don’t see any visible fluid around his eye though.
Hello Everyone!
Our 2 year old veiled cham got an eye infection and has been keeping his left eye closed 24/7 for the past few days. We took him to the vet who gave us an antibiotic eye drop to use twice a day for 10 days, but we are struggling to actually get any of the drop into his eye...
Thank you all for the tips. Perhaps I will try a shield and/or add a grow light. As of now I was just using the UVB bulb and heat lamp, but my cham cage is near a window so does get some indirect sunlight as well, which I was hoping would help, but perhaps it's not enough.
That's a bummer. I specifically bought a ficus benjamina because it was recommended on this site as a good plant for a cham's cage. In fact it is the first plant listed as a center piece plant on the list you linked to. Perhaps it should be removed from that PDF if it's not a great plant to use.
For those of you with ficus in your chams cage, how do you maintain them? I can't seem to keep them alive in the cage, they always start dropping leaves and getting white spots. I assume either too hot (getting burned from the heat lamp) and probably too much water (from the mistings, water...
So my veiled chameleon is about 5 months old now and growing fast. We have plants and some thinner vines in his enclosure which have been perfect til this point but as he continues to get bigger I'd like to put some thicker branches in the enclosure for him to climb on and that can handle his...
I’ve found during covid the website I have purchased crickets from in the past is having supply issues. A casual look at a few other sites also seemed to have low inventory or delayed shipping. anyone have recommendations on where you get your crickets or Dubias from online? Looking to buy in...
If you provide a dry gutload like cricket crack and wet gutload like a fresh fruits and veggies, do you still have to provide a water source for the crickets? I’ve been using dry gutload, orange cubes, and fruits and veggies but if I could eliminate the orange cubes that would be great!
Hello Everyone,
New cham owner here and trying to work out the kinks. I made a DIY dripper out of a large plastic Solo cup and a few tiny holes in the bottom from a needle as I've seen suggested on this forum. I have a Reptibreeze XL screened enclosure and have been setting the cup on top of...

Which needs the standard screw in bulbs. So something like this...
Hello! I am a new chameleon owner as well, we just received our baby veiled today. We are using the linear 5.0 T5HO UVB bulb in our 24x24x48 enclosure as well but we bought a 100W ceramic heat emitter for the basking bulb that I think was a mistake as it doesn't seem to heat up the basking...
