Hi guys! So after calling around, scheduling an appointment, getting cancelled on the day of the appointment, and then finding another vet we have finally found a specialist.
I always get worried taking Yoshi out of his cage because I’m worried the different temperatures and surroundings are...
Unfortunately south shore is incredibly difficult/hard to get to during normal business hours. I called a north shore place and a few other VCAs to see if they knew of specialists in the area too
I checked the vet list and there doesn’t seem to be any in Boston. I have a friend whose wife is a vet with the MSPCA and known as the reptile specialist. I’ve been asking them a lot of questions, but I can’t bring him in until I know she will pick up a shift at a secondary animal hospital.
I...
Hi all!
I have an almost five year old male panther Cham named Yoshi. He’s been in my care for 4.5 years. He’s moved states with me and helped me find a sense of stability through COVID, a new job, and moving to a new city.
What has slowly been building up for the last few weeks has been a...
So we’ve experimented a bunch since I saw the hallow eyes and almost sent myself into a spiral.
We have a mist king and cold fog setup and I have it programmed to mist similar to bill strand’s recommendation for hydration (with 30 seconds on at 11, 1, and 3. I know it risks respiratory...
Thank you for posting this, my guy is turning five and I worry he might be at a similar stage. For us, he’s not really sticking his tongue out to hunt anymore and he seems slower. He’s definitely started to eat less and I think he’s not drinking as much because the first time in his life, his...
Just realized today that I’ve had Yoshi for over 3 years and he turns 4 in June. This is my first chameleon and he has even managed to do a full state move in 2022. I got Yoshi from @Acham and wanted to post a little update showing how he was doing!
So right after Yoshi (13 months, male) sheds he kind of goes on this exploring rampage and runs all around his cage and on the screen, most likely looking for a female. This is the only time he screen climbs.
This time he slipped and broke a nail:
Ive read previous threads to keep it dry and...
I have been absolutely in love with these ice cube containers for freezing my blended gutload: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08S2W8659?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
I normally froze it in a block and then try to chip off at the block, but this is so much better! And then it just pops...
Hi everyone! So far things have been going well. This week has been the first week where temperatures reached around 70-78° where I live. (Normally it’s 40-50°). It was nice and I got to take my little man Yoshi (male panther 9months) outside to be in the sun 🙂
I notice that his hot spot...
That’s a decent price IMO, I bought this one ($42 after shipping) http://www.lllreptile.com/products/36314-t5-ho-single-bulb-light-strip--36
But it did not come with the light, so I got that online in bulk (about $16 a bulb)
Good on you for getting everything ready to go before you get him!
Lights a HO T5 5/6% UVB Linear fixture is recommended. I got mine on LLCreptile. Mine is 36 inches long, but that was the only option for me when I was trying to get one. A 24 inch would work well too.
You need a heat lamp too...
I’m so sorry this happened to you. It definitely sounds super weird and I hope the breeder can help you out more. Did you have your baby on a heated seat? I have no idea what would have caused all this in two hours
