Making a "dripper cap"

Got this idea from a member, water drips into a plastic Gatoraid cap, the cap fills with water, and cascades down on the vines and leaves below.

I like the caps from the 64oz Gatoraid bottles because they are bright orange.

I get a fake leaf and glue it to the inside of the cap with silicone cement (aquarium glue).
Then, glue a small magnet to the bottom of the cap with epoxy cement.
Then use a paper clamp around the branch, and remove the 2 finger clips (just pinch and they come out).

Most of my chams love these, and they drink from the cap even when there is no dripping, but water is still inside the cap.
You do need to clean it out every day, and replace the paper clamp with a new one when it starts to rust, but it's a neat way to get chams to drink.
They learn really fast :)

Last 3 pics, continued from OP:

Be sure to save the silver pins so you can snap them back in to remove the clamp.

I didn't think chameleons would drink from standing water? ! I use those magnets for different things in my boys cages. Got 30 for <$18 on eBay. Neat idea though.

They do drink the standing water in the cap, it surprised me too.

I guess they just learn water is inside the orange thing!!??

They look like cats lapping up water from a bowl :p

Maybe with the leaf sitting in the cap makes them think of how a plant may act as a "bowl" in nature? I may have to give it a try at least with Clouseau as he will lick water off of branches and leaves!

Yeah, I always had the little fake leaf sticking out.
Don't know what they would do if I removed it!?

I wish I could figure out how to give them water when on the free range.

Any suggestions?
