In this tutorial, I am going to show you how to install a MistKing nozzle in your aluminum screen cage. To get started, you will need the following items to complete the install.

Tools needed:

*Power Drill w/ 1/8" bit
*Flat head screwdriver
*Small Philips head screwdriver

Parts needed:

*4) #8x3/8" Hex washer head screws
*1) MistKing corner wedge
*1) Mistking misting nozzle (Value or Premium)

Step 1: Place the corner wedge on top of the screen cage, in the corner you wish to mist from. Center the wedge on the top center panel only, do not over lap it on the tops of the side panels.

Step 2: Take your power drill and while holding the wedge in place carefully drill 4 holes using the wedges pre-drilled holes as a guide.
Apply light pressure while drilling, you only need to drill through the top layer in the frame. Drilling all the way into the interior of the cage is not needed.

Step 3: Now that you have your holes drilled it's time to attach the wedge to the top of the cage and secure it with 4) #8x3/8" screws.
When working with aluminum, use light pressure to prevent the screw from "stripping" out the hole.

This is what you should end up with at the end of step 3.

Step 4: We now need to make the hole for the nozzles bulkhead to pass through the screen of the cage. This step is nerve wracking for some, but is actually very simple.
Take a small Philips head screw driver, and align it in the center of the wedges hole. while centered, press it through the screen while turning it back and forth;
almost as if you are using the screw driver to drill through the screen. Once it is through the screen, use a stirring method to elongate the hole.
Use the wedge as a guide, allowing the screw drivers shank to ride against the hole in the wedge. If you use the wedge as a guide, the hole will be the exact size needed.

Step 5: Now that your wedge is attached, and your hole is made, were in the home stretch! Time to prep your misting nozzle for install.

You need to remove the "T" or "L" connector from the top of the nozzles bulkhead assy. Press down on the bulkhead's collet, while pulling on the "T" connector to safely remove.

Then remove the top nut off the bulk head.

Now take your nozzle and insert it up and through the hole in the cage corner. It should fit snuggly, and hold itself in place.

Once in place you need to reinstall the nut and tighten it down. A firm hand tightening is all thats needed to secure the nozzle in place. You will need to hold the nozzle from the inside of the cage, an extra hand may be needed for large deep cages.

Lastly, you need to reinstall your "T" connector, by pressing it back into the bulkhead.

You can now give your self a pat on the back, you have successfully installed your new MistKing nozzle. You are now ready to plumb your lines and complete the systems install.:)

Thanks for reading.:)

lol thats what the little holes are for =P mines flush with the screen wedged into the corner, and weather stripped to kill vibration noise, but oh well it works, and i cant put another big holes in the cage

Very nice ! Hope it's OK to lift some of thoese images :) Though I see you've got the premium nozzle and a value T connector.

Good instructions. My concern is I have a reptibreeze screen cage and the material of the frame looks and feels like plastic to me. Would you advise drilling the holes on a Reptibreeze screen enclosure?

Thank you so much for the pictorial tutorial. Never thought that an old gal like me could put together, such a rockin misting system! (thank you Marty too.):):D

I didn't have a drill/screws handy so I just velcroed that acrylic wedge to the top. Works fine and easily removable should you ever need to take it off.

Thanks for the info. Now im ready to install the Mistking I bought from the Pomona Expo. Just waiting to put the finishing touches on the 4x2x2 I got from DIY.
