update

just because i havent done one of these in a while, imma post one, and if anyone sees anything wrong - please let me know

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?

pascal - male yemen chameleon, lived with me for about 3 and a half months now

Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?

once a day, most days - in the morning, ill put my hand under his chin and he'll run straight up my arm. only in the morning though, recently he started doing this - hes happy to recieve attention in the morning but if i go in there after mid day he'll hiss madly and try and bite etc, occasionally he's ok with it, but normally thats what i get. he wont let anyone else catch him, some people can hold him, some he just wont go near - i.e. my mom, who usually has her nose against his flex...

Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?

crickets, recently he's been eating LOADs, in the region of 20 - 30 a day, theyre still little ones but its a big jump to the next size - the tubs i get are great because they have a variety of sizes in there, all pascal sized, next size up is slightly daunting but we'll get there. i gut load them finely chopped apples which i leave in a bottle top in their tubs, also potato, carrot, whatever we happen to have

Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?

not doing great with dusting, he has trex chameleon dust on his crickets every other day, sometimes once every 3 days if i put more on them, he doesnt love the dusted ones but im going to start dusting them properly when i can get some plain calcium an d3 stuff, but so far the chameleon dust hasnt caused any problems

Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?

i dont see him drinking, but he must do because he's alive and has soft skin etc.
i mist him twice daily, havent got a misting system and all the dripper does is flood the bottom and make it dusty so i dont use it, i use a squirty bottle and mist him until the flex is dripping once in the morning after he's been handled, and once abuot a hour before bed time. usually he hides when im doing it, so ill leave the room as soon as im done so he feels safe enough to come out and have some water

Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?

never been tested for bugs, his poop looks healthy, brown, not mushy or anything, white bit is usually white, sometimes slightly yellow

History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

he's been to the vets, when he was about a month old he had an eye infection, had eye drops for a week, all cleared up now, he has several lovely vets - a local vet for checkups which he'll be seeing in a few months as part of his once every 6 months check up scheme, and a reptile specialist for when he gets sick

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?

currently flexarium 38, hopefully moving into the 65 gallon one in a month or so

Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?

wakes up at 7, bed time at 7, its on a timer - 5.0 repti glo uvb compact lamp.

Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?

he currently has a 150 watt "deep heat" basking bulb, because it gets damn cold in my room over winter. but its ok buying the extra stuff because now i have a spare heat bulb and clamp (= new reptile soon, hopefully a peacock gecko) he also has a plug in radiator which is on a thermostat in the middle of my room, just giving the basking lamp a bit of a hand because my mom doesnt believe in central heating. he has two thermometers, a digital one which measures the top ambient temp, and a analogue one measuring the bottom temp. usually 26degrees ish, has had a hard time getting over this temperature but i know its hotter under his heat bulb so he's fine for that. he basks occasionally but he doesnt have a particular favourite part of his flex. so i guess that means he's good for temp

Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?

analogue hygrometer, gets ignored because theyre crap. but he gets misted twice daily and theres newspaper soaking any moisture up so im sure its fine

Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?

he has a coleus plant. and soon ill have to get a new one because he sometimes eats it.

Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?

he's by my bedroom door, not close to the windows but the windows will shine sunlight into his flex at certain times of the day, halfway between the floor and the ceiling, and he can see the whole of my room from where he is, so he likes watching me/the tv when he's done eating/exploring/sulking etc

Location - Where are you geographically located?
south coast of the uk.
currently winter
its bloody cold outside, and windy, so enerally the curtains are closed and my lights left on with the plug in radiator. he's pretty happy.
