So now I've learned that if Swyft was startled when I go to put him away the shock could be really bad for him. I'm trying to put him away earlier and earlier each time, watching to see when he gets "settled in" and thereby putting him back in the cage for the night. He's a tricky one. I am now debating leaving him out on the nights that he falls asleep too early rather than waking him. The room isn't free-range safe yet for during the waking hours unless he is supervised, but if they sleep all night I could leave him out and put him away in the morning. (I wake up before he does, could turn on the room light to wake him first, etc. so he isn't startled)
That led me to deciding that I want the room more free-range friendly. He really just wants the big tree and doesn't like his cage (can't blame him, who wants a cage) so I may move his lights over to the big tree and start tackling some of the unsafe areas of the room in case he wanders off his main highways and byways that I've already created.
I already cup feed half the time so I could just go to cup feeding all the time I guess.
