any chameleon owners in los ageles?

yea i got the plant for it and i also know what light i need to use for it.but i was told my room is too hot for a chameleon. my room temp is normaly 78 to 80

is it 80 all the time? That sounds hot for night time temps. I try to keep my room under 75 in the summer for ambient temps for both veileds and panthers. It drops to 65-70 at night in the summer and colder in the winter.

its 9:00 in L,A and i just check my room and my thermometer say 80. but it feel less than 80. maybe in its 75

what petshop in los angeles do you guy buy your food just like butterworm or grasshopers or any other food that is just not cricket or pinkies

hmmm....

Rocket, yes, the ambient temperature affects the temperature of the cage.

If it gets warm, turn off the heat light. In Los Angeles, this should not be a huge problem...LA is not Tuscon or Phoenix or Las Vegas...areas where people successfully keep chameleons.

It got to 120 in Woodland Hills (Los Angeles) once and it often is well over 100 degrees in the summer.

Protect chameleons from extreme temperatures and always provide them with a drip and misting system.

Actually, without having more details from the OP, it's hard to help him out. Too many things can be taken out of context.

There is a group that meets in Santa Monica every month called SBCK (Southbay Chameleon Keepers) so if you really want to network and connect with other chameleon keepers around you Rocket89, then try to go to the next meeting. It's held on the last Tuesday of the month. They will have a booth at the San Diego Reptile Show on June 26th and 27th as well. Be sure to stop by and meet Dave Weldon.
