Here's the home of my first chameleon (Nosy Faly panther) in which I am getting next week!

He's going to be 3 months old, and I haven't finished decorating the cage just yet, but almost there!

Tell me what you think :)

Just remeber that the basking spot needs to be a min of 6" away from the basking area and that the UV will be inafective after 12" or more! but apart from that how do you intend on keeping the humidity at the desired level? :)

Made sure of that! It is 6"+ inches away..My basement is humid to begin with (around 65-70+).

I will also be purchasing a MistKing soon just incase I go out for the day - don't want to worry about him when I'm gone!

Thanks :)

I think you are off to a great start!
If you can do the temps and humidity that are required it will be a lovely home for your Cham :)

Looks like your nailing the basics my friend, keep up the good work :D

Thanks Linda and Matt - I did a solid month of research and asked A LOT of questions before even beginning to start this...I love being ready and not having to worry when bringing something new home.

Appreciate the feedback!

They are bamboo sticks..They came in packs of 3 for $1.50 at the dollar store!

Shouldn't it be a dollar, if it's from the dollar store? :p

I would suggest adding in some bendy vines, have some verticle climing vines so he can move up and down the cage easily.

otherwise it looks great

Haha, sadly, very few dollar stores keep it under a dollar anymore! - at least in Toronto!

Yeah, I was thinking adding some bendy vines, or just put some diagonal bamboo sticks coming from the bottom.

Thanks!

Just a small suggestion and I'm not sure if you have already done so but, maybe get a small amount of extra mesh screen (Home Depot sells it for pretty cheap for a huge roll $6 or something) just to cover up the base of the plant. That way you don't have to worry about your new cham shooting at any of the debris in the pot. I have also read some owners cover theirs with river rocks. Good luck with your new cham!

Looks good. Pick up a pothos and wrap the vines around the bamboo. It adds a bit more cover and gives them a good cup for drinking water. Also, whichever branch is the basking spot leave it naked, so you can watch him bask.
