Trioceros goetzei cry.

Cute!

I think that it can be translated to something along the lines of "get that f$#%^ thing outta my face."

I was trying to figure out why you would say "No that is not a mouse in the cage." until I watched the video.. WOW lol!

Replay over and over and over again @ 0:15...

Hooray, it worked. Cool video. How often do you hear the squeeking? Just when threatened?

The cham made that noise?! That is so cool! I didn't think chams made any noises other that hiss and 'Pfft'! She is absolutely beautiful, even when she's angry, lol!:D I think that if Amy could make any noise it would be a string of 4 letter obsceneties directed right at me, lol!:D:eek:

Ha! Thanks Kent:eek: Yes, only when threatened is when I hear it. I would try to get it on video here and there but they would never do it. Whenever I hand feed them they will take however many feeders they want. After they are done the will squeal at me LOL.

Tiff, if any of my chams could speak it would be a string of those 4 letter words too:D

My crickets sometimes make small squeaky sounds like that when im collecting them.

I can't believe that came from a cham lol. Does anyone else have a more then usual vocal cham.

man her reaction in the begining is sooo funny...shes like..."whats this?....umm why are you so close?.....go away....OMFG GET THE F OUTA HERE!"

Jared that is the sweetest little sound. That goetzei is still the coolest cham ever. When do I ever get to buy one???? You or Trace must be having babies someday right? How many goetzei do you have? I can find next to no information about them.

Metric,

The subsonic sounds/vibrations of some species can he heard here: http://www.geocities.com/RainForest/Vines/5014/hoot.html

The Trioceros goetzei is the only species of chameleon to actually make an audible squeaking sound when stressed or threatened. It sounds exactly like a mouse and it's quite loud.
T

I know its hard to believe:p You can see her puff her gular a bit when she squeaks the first time which isnt as loud as the second when she is behind the leaf.

Laurie, I wish they would come in more. I only have 2 females in my possession at the moment. They are definitely awesome little chams. Out of all the chams I have kept or worked with, these are one of the favorites.

I think you would like the bitans too. The CB and LTC ones I have seen look very nice. Trace has some nice pics of them on Adcham.com
