Transporting Chams

Hey everyone-
So I drove up from where I am going to school to visit my parents for the weekend, and I brought the cham with me. To transport him, I just put his whole cage in the passenger seat of my car, and covered the whole thing with a towel so he didnt scared because of things moving all round him. It was a four hour drive. So i stoped a few times to check up on him. And he was climbing all round the top of the cage scratching at the mesh. I could tell he was not happy with the situation. I have to get him back down to where I live at the end of the weekend, and I dont want to put him through the stress of that again. Do you know of any good ways to transport chams for a long road trip like that? I thought of putting him in a small critter keeper with a few branches and a little fake vine, but I am thinking that would be just as bouncy. I am down for any tips or suggestions.

Keep him cool? I thought if anything i would want to keep him a little warmer. So i just get like a paper lunch bag, dampen a paper towel and throw it in. Place the cham in it, and he will just hang in there for several hours, and wont get too stressed? he doesnt need like a branch or something to hold onto?

Yup.
I was going to say a small box (same principle)
Darkness is the key.
He will go to sleep and not even realize the trip.

I kept his cage completly covered and it was at night so it was 100% dark for him. But it seems like the "bouncyness" of the ride is what scared him. But it sounds like a smaller container than his cage for sure, and a damp paper towel in it. He we just chill on the paper towel? I thought for him to sleep he would want a branch or a leaf to hold onto.

Tyler actually suggested a Dry paper towel and not a Damp one.

He's gonna bounce around alot less on the floor of a paper bag than hanging onto a branch in a car that will be swinging around... He'll grip onto the paper towel and basically fall to sleep if you keep him cool. If you dampen the towel it'll weaken the bag, as well as making him more likely to "use the restroom" and stink up his sleeping quarters.

You mentioned you had originally used a cage with a towel over it. What colour was the towel?

Has anyone else noticed their chams reacting to certain colours.

Mine don't like when I pass their cages when I wear a particular marroon/red tshirt. My yellow one bothers some of them also. I figure they react to certain colours or they just dont like my fashion sense...LOL

The towel was orange, but i was driving late at night, so it was already dark out, so I dont think the color of the towel, or anything like that had to do with it. It sounds like a paper bag with a DRY paper towel is the way to go. Should I keep it open, or fold the top of it closed so it stay darker?

On another note, is there anyway to tell what colors a Ambilobe will show when they are still young, or do you just have to wait it out and see?
