Zoo Med Nightlight Red Reptile Bulbs

my chameleon has no heat at night. What size bulb do i need?cage is 2x2x4 all screen cage. I have a graceful chameleon. Heater in house not working .i have a basking light for only the day time. Thanks

evenif you needed heat a bulb isnt the anwser. lights arnt so wonderful for chams beacuse they want to sleep in the dark just like people(most people) :)

a heater would be a better choice.

I have a milk heater, I guess that's what it is called, to keep the temps up in my room at night, but other wise there is no need for a heat bulb for night time. They thermoregulate (sp?) which means they used the heat that they have absorbed during the day to heat themselves at night time. So if your room goes under about 68 degrees at night than add a heater and a humidifier so it doesn't get too dry in the room.

Nah.. below 68 is still alright.. If it goes to around 55 degrees i will turn a heater on but ya dont want it to go over 75 degrees in the room.. Read up alil and see, low temps are good for the chameleons immune system but continued exposure to extremely low temps will harm your animal. If your chameleon is very dark at night or before bed it is too cold. I live in the high desert and the temperatures drop alot here at night to about 38-45 degrees my chameleons do fine inside with temps around 62-70.
