I have a new 3month old veiled. I use a little dripper which is 79oz i let it drip all day and twice a day ill turn it on almost full speed to drip more water. but he drinks from it wether it is fast or slow and drinks well. I use a fogger to regulat humidity in my cage. Is this suffecient for my chameleon? i do not have live plants nor do i mist his cage. He feeds from a cup and eats like a champ. He has just finished shedding. Let me know about the dripper and fogger.

sounds fine. long as the poop as a pure white urate*sp?* + if you poseted what you humidity is and what kinda of cage you have that would help. no matter what you should be misting 2-3times a day untill the cham is drinking (sometimes they dont want you to watch. if this is the case as long as the poop is good they are drinking)

His poop is fine. I have the dripper positioned above 2 leaves and falls into a collection bowl. He drinks the water that splashes onto the sides of the leaf in the first one. He's not shy and drinks wether it drips fast or slow. I just wanted to make sure that was good enough.

Watch this video and you can see my cage the two lilly pads positioned on the right side just inside the door are what the dripper drops on

if his poop and humidity are fine than thats pritty darn cool! just make shure he doesnt fall in the water and you wash it everyday. mabey put some potho steams in there? they can grow in the water and you dont have to worry about your cham falling in and drowning/getting stuck. besides that, you idea and set up is really really cool!

I keep the humidity between 50%-60%. And thank you for the suggestion thats a really good idea i did not know they could grow in water like that. Thank you Ill be adding one hopefully tomorrow. And thank you for the compliments

your set up is very nice! My only concern would be if the bowl filled up with water and your cham fell in it. There was just someone here last week whose cham fell in a catch basin and nearly drown or drowned. They found the cham in the water and revived it but I don't know the outcome if it lived or not. anyways, I do not mist that much either. The main purpose is for humidity and drinking, although it is said that the moisture is good for their skin and for them to clean their eyes so that is why I still mist but not everyday. My humidity is great as we live in Florida and my chameleon only drinks from the dripper pretty much. Never ran a fogger so cannot comment on that but your humidity is good so you must be doing something right!

thank you very much. I like the fogger my cage stays at 40% humidity without the fogger but it looks cool and keeps the humidity where i would rather it be. This new little guy is awesome he is already friendly and doesnt mind me in his cage and ate a small meal worm from my hand today. I may get a screen dish drainer to put over the top of my catch bowl to cover the whole just so nothing but water could get through
