zilla mini halogen lights

I use them and its just a matter of what wattage bulb you use and where you place them. For instance I would not place them directly to the top of our enclosure such as having it rest on the screen. I have mine setup several inches above my enclosures and I have a nice appropriate basking spot for my chams. In the beginning I had them way too close and they burned the crap out of my plants :( I think they're good to use just have to make the appropriate adjustments.

I use 35-55 watt wide flood halogens. Plants love them. To the point they crowd out the basking spot. But you still have to angle them to the basking branch so the cham gets hit with an ellipse/oval instead of a hot spot circle.

Hmm, got me thinking. Thank you.

Here is how i turn 4 35watt (so 140watt total) to a 2ft long warm section with no hot spots. Works out alot better vs 1 big angled 150 watt unit.

What in the name of Frankenstein is happening in this picture?

LOL

You are looking in a 5ft by 5ft "grow tent" that has a ibc tote in it that has been cut down to be 2ft tall. That is filled with 18" deep of peatmoss and top soil. Then i made the basking area out of an overflow tray for a washer. And the basking area is lined with slate roof tiles (great for wearing down nails). Then its the standard 4ft long light your reptiles hood.

The current occupant isnt really chameleon friendly...
