Zack showing off his colours

Hi all,

I was cleaning out Zacks enclosure yesterday and i dont think he was too impressed that i was invading his space on this occasion.

He is now about 3 months old (Hatched begining of March) and is starting to get some markings but they are still quite light and this is the first time he has dispayed his colours like this and i must say i was quite impressed!

How do you think his colours will develop as he ages?

Thanks, It really caught me off guard, i just didnt expect to see him fired up like that.

Do their colours develop further or is this what he will eventually look like once he reaches maturity?

He looks great! Its a thrill to see that! He will get better and brighter, I garauntee it!
You will yellows and oranges aswell, especially along the sides and the limbs.
Mine is 6 months now, I mean to update with a few pics soon. Natural sunlight makes a big difference. Unfortunately its been pouring everyday for two weeks here and the next are predicted to be the same. But come daylight tomorrow Ill try to get a few shots, 'fired up' so you get an idea whats coming.
Wont ever be anything like a panther, but veilds can be pretty flashy. Google adult male veiled (images) and take a look.

Bigcappa, the images posted above are not my animal, I took samples from a google search to give Simon an idea what to expect.
My guy is very close to that already, has the kind of orange shown in the 2nd pic when in the sun.

Jo, your guy is a real stunner, i realy hope Zack develops some yellows like your male!

I cant wait for the little guy to grow up, but i suppose good things come tho those who wait.

I keep the pics comming as he grows, and hopfully we should be getting some nice weather here in the UK over the summer to let him get some natural Rays!

Simon, one thing I like about Veilds is that they vary quite alot in color /pattern.
With panthers you get some stunning animals, but not much varience in pattern.
Your guy looks so much like mine a few months ago, Im sure he'll only get better.
Just wait till you can get him outdoors in the sun, youll be surprised!

Jo checked out your gallery and hes a good looking guy as well, my new guy is only 2 months old so we are still waiting for some color but he gets really pissed when he is misted and shows what he has, its pretty funny though

Thanks. You gotta admire the expression afforded chameleons, mine gaped and moved in to munch on my fingers a few days ago while I was cleaning, first time hes done that, mostly he just fires the color, 'pissed off' always seems to be the black spotty look like simons cham. The colors seem to really come out more in the sun still.
