You're Kidding Right?

So, my friend is getting a Ball Python.. Well they have ordered it so far, but it has to be switched to f/t mice before she gets it and what not..

But when she ordered the snake, she didn't ask about the guarentee and she didn't ask for pictures.

She said her dad took care of it. Honesty she can't rely on her "daddy" with stuff like that.

She said she told the breeder that if it dies she wants a new snake or if anything is wrong with it she wants a refund and if they don't do it, than her dad is going to nuts on the breeder.

Okay, first off you ALWAYS get pictures of what you are getting off the internet.

Secondly, you don't tell the breeder how things are going to work with the guarentee, especially when they are a reputable breeder and they made one for that exact reason.

She seems to think just because her dad had a ball python back in early 2000's that it's still the same. But I'm sure it's changed quite a bit.

But as for this, my rant is over. Always make sure what you are getting before you purchase it and do your research on the company.

Any reputable breeder probably will not allow a minor to purchase an animal on their own and without parental supervision.

She has permission from her father, and her father has been in contact with the breeder, but they never got any sort of pictures of the animal before actually paying for it.

Well, if it really is a reputable breeder, you don't always need to get pics. If they've got a good reputation, sometimes when buying something you don't always need to check the exact animal you're getting. I've certainly gotten chameleons without a photo, just a specific sire. Or something like crested geckos, they all look the same at a young age. As long as you trust the breeder to send you a healthy animal, you let them pick what they send you. How many of us really ask chameleon breeders to send us a photo of the exact baby we're getting? Out of maybe 40+ babies in a batch, I doubt they'd even remember which one they showed you unless it was the pick of the litter outstanding. But we're always impressed with our new babies most of the time anyway :)

On the other hand, you have to know what the terms are so you know what rights you have or don't have. Usually, as long as you let them know you're not happy within a few hours of recieving the animal, they are usually more than happy to help. Again, if this is a trully reputable breeder we're talking about.

Well, I'm not sure if they ordered from someone on Fauna or a big time breeder, they are being pretty naive about this purchase. Seems like an impulse buy.

I'm sure it will be fine. Ball pythons are pretty damn hardy. I rescued mine 12 years ago from being in hell for a LONG time.
